Great for the price, paid approximately 600 bath / night for ac room in low season. 10 min walking to pier, quite clean and provide hot water also. The room upstairs is better as the room downstairs is humid. Dont expect 5 stars hotel, expect a rest place with ac and hot water than you'll be satisfied. Nice guy at reception but very limited english communication skill

Pros:
It is good value for money. The host was friendly and kept our luggage beyond hours for us and helped manage keys despite being the only one around. Wifi is pretty good (a little surprising :p )

Cons:
The place is in quite a shabby area. But that is part and parcel of getting a cheaper price. So leave aesthetics aside if you book this place. There is one tiny soap in the bathroom, towels are provided, but nothing else is provided. A small bedsheet is a replacement for a blanket, which is a first time I had no blanket in a hotel/guesthouse :p

The owner was lovely although not able to help much. My room was very cheap, but also "empty". Only one old and creaky double bed in the middle of the room, a small safe stuck to the wall, a crooked shelf on another and a TV cable coming out of the floor without TV. The shower had only cold water and not so much pressure and the bathroom tended to get flooded. I think water was also trickling from the ceiling as I found my toilet roll soaked in its container. The location was inconvenient, on top of a long flight of crooked steps impossible to climb with your hard suitcase and at night it was practically like being inside a loud karaoke bar until 2 or 3 am. Not worth the savings!!!

Comparatively to the overpriced big hotels and resorts, the Lux Guesthouse is a cheap opportunity to spend the nights on Ko Phi Phi! Our room was spacious, had a powerful air conditioning, Television, hot shower and very fast wifi. Also there is a small washing machine at the reception. The Guesthouse is located directly on the ascent path to the Viewpoint. When you arrive at the ferry terminal always follow the signs to the viewpoint, they’ll lead you directly to the guesthouse. The owner himself is very friendly and even helped us to took our heavy suitcases up the stairs. Unfortunately, the disturbing noise that came from outside of the discotheques, karaoke bars and the celebrating crowds, is very audible at the rooms until the early morning. This is mainly resulting of the guesthouse’s location on the mountain slope and less the fault of the guesthouse itself. You shouldn’t forget that you are on Phi Phi, there is Party everywhere at the nighttime... Regrettably, the walls between the rooms are not very thick, so you also could hear the noise from your neighbors too. My conclusion: If you are primarily looking for a budget accommodation and not too sensitive with regard to nocturnal noises, this could definitely be the right place for you!

Very basic but super cheap accommodation on Phi Phi. Beds, air conditioning, bathroom with hot water, free coffee - couldn't ask for more at the price (700B/night for a twin room). Also their wifi is lightning fast (30Mb/s). Staff helpful and always around.

The building is really poor and the staff doesn't speak a word of English. At least the rooms are clean and have private bathrooms. Recommended if you are gonna spend a night on phi phi and what a cheap place

I did not expected a very pleasant place, really. And I did not need it. It is not awful but for the same price I have been in better places in Thailand. Maybe it is because Koh Phiphi hostels are more expensive than in the rest of Thailand.
