An awesome experience in the 9 hostel in Chiang Mai, the guys there are super friendly and quite helpful. Always a good time to them. Awesome family ????

Near the parks or the main square, if you want you just can use the bicycles available to have a nice experience in the city.

Also the hotel is near the most popular clubs in Chiang Mai like SPV, Zoe in Yellow and Spicy.

Quite cheap compared with many hostels around and for everything that they offer.

Totally recommend to stay.

I stayed one night at 9 hostel in a twin room with fan. I had a window that provided great natural light into the room. It was very basic but clean and enough for my use. Clean towels are provided; The rack for the clothes with the hangers is very useful. Would go back there if I want to stay somewhere cheap.
Also, the man that was at the reception the two days (maybe the manager?) was very helpful and could speak English.

Really great place to stay, amazing value for money! Nice clean room, really friendly hostel owner, free water and a fridge freezer which is the best to make ice water in hot weather! Also washing machine use for 20baht is really great as you can finally wash everything for cheap as a long term traveller! Location is good too, close to everything. Thank you!

I unfortunately didn’t have a very good time here. The windows don’t really fit in the frames, so you can hear dogs barking all night, and people down the street at the pub.

The owner “offers” a lot of deals, but when I said no to all of them, as I had made my own plans, she clearly thought I was a waste of time and basically ran upstairs to open my room, told me never to lose my key and left. Lol. When I got incredibly ill with food poisoning and needed something from her locked drinks fridge, she took her time chatting with people who came in after me, instead of helping me while I basically was throwing up in the lobby.

When I asked where to get breakfast, she sent me the wrong direction, and when I arrived the first night, the gate was locked, she was gone and she didn’t pick up her phone. She eventually came back, but a panic is not what someone wants when they first arrive somewhere, especially if you’re traveling alone.

I would not recommend this place. Also, the outlet by the bed didn’t work. For the amount I paid, I felt like I didn’t get much from this place.

I stayed five nights. Her cat was very sweet, but I didn’t see any food or water out for her...poor kitty. :(

I was very impressed with the efficiency of the hotel. The room is maintained very clean throughout our stay. These people seemed genuinely happy to do things for us. Location is convenient as its within walking distances to the Sunday night market. You definitely will get your monies worth by staying here.

The staff do a good job of cleaning the rooms and are pretty friendly. It's basic okay but clean and the host is an amazing guy who really took care of me being on my own. The staff is friendly and helpful. Look forward to returning next time we are in CM.

Our standard double room at 9 Hostel was on the ground floor at the back of the building just by the stairs. It had 2 huge cockroaches and no window. Room smelled musty and a double bed room was two singles pushed together. The floor was dirty and was literally stuck down with sellotape. Also - there were no bedsheets to sleep under - just a synthetic fleece type blanket. We asked for normal bed sheets and they just seemed confused. 1st place we’ve stayed at in Thailand that has been this poor. We’re a couple from the UK travelling and staying in budget accommodation. We don’t mind basic but cockroaches are not okay for us. The staff did seem sweet enough but as soon as we saw the bugs we packed our bags (one cockroach was actually
Clambering over my rucksack at the time!) and we checked out and found a much nicer room in Give me 5 hostel a few doors up.
