Had a wonderful lunch here before our flight out of Bangkok. The tom yum soup was great and the appetizer looked amazing and delicious too. The ribs are tender as well and definitely worth a try!

Apart from the food, we loved the drinks too. I ordered a cocktail called Anchan (?) and it was soooo good!

Overall, its a restaurant that I’ll for sure visit again!

It's been years since I had been back here and I was surprised (and yet not for their quality) to see the accolades that flank the front doors. The charms of this age old establishment in a traditional Thai house only grows stronger amidst the skyscrapers sprouting all round in Bangkok.

The dining hall was almost empty with only a few tables occupied. The service staff was excellent, attentive and helpful. When the drinks and food was served, it was clear the reasons why I fell in love with this restaurant many years ago. I'm not Thai but I think it's really good authentic local food. It seems that they had the privilege of seeing many kings in their history and dining here makes you feel also a tad bit royal. However the royal taste does not come with a royal price, really affordable.

Again there are too many dishes so I'll share my personal Top 3 favorite

1) Grilled beef with thick red curry
2) Deep-fried Seabass with green peppercorn and kafir leaves
3) Appetizer platter (good for 2)

Wow, we had an amazing lunch here. This place is huge with outdoor and indoor seating with air conditioning.
The food was delicious and the quality and presentation of the dishes were top notch. The workers are super friendly as well. We spent aroun 2500 baht here. Well worth it.

Traditional superb restaurant awarded by Michelin with a Bib Gourmand. The staff here is extraordinary committed and gives you an unforgettable memorable experience. The menu card, with beautiful pictures, gives the visitors an exact idea of what to expect. The food itself was mouthwatering, we had Tom Yam Kung served in a fresh young coconut, spicy as we asked. The fried fish, presented and professional filleted, fresh from the sea. The appetizer set was a masterpiece of flavours. We paid 1950 Baht, which was a correct prize.

This place was awesome. Order everything and enjoy everything. Wait staff was attentive and helpful with the menu selections. Portions were perfect and each dish was exploding with flavor. Only thing I did not enjoy were the fish balls….meh. Everything else was spectacular. Even the vegetables were delicious.

This is one of the best restaurants i had in BKK. After returning from BKK for 2 months, i am still missing the awesome curry beef i had. Restaurant is housed in a heritage building that offers a glimpse of how old house is like in the past. We were also able to wonder around after meal to take some nice photos around the house. Would be back to The Local for sure. Restaurant price. Booking is recommended before going.

Authentic Thai cuisine in charming old house. Welcoming and attentive service. Foods were delicious. Tomjewkoong spicy shrimp soup with diced potato and mixed Thai appetizer set were highly recommended. Convenient vallet parking service.
