+: The location of the hotel is incredible, directly on the beach in the quiet side of town, yet still in walking distance to the main part of town where many restaurants are. Beach was clean and there were many sun beds.
The rooms were clean and the beds were comfy. The bath had a gap in the outside wall to let the steamy air out; however, we heard that there were also rooms were the shower was partly outside.
Breakfast was very nice, big variety and authentic Thai Pancakes that were very good.
Staff was very friendly, they picked up our luggage at the pier, arranged a day-tour around Phi Phi Islands for a good price, gave us snorkeling equipment and a kayak for free. The receptionist also spoke English very well.
Pool was more like a jacuzzi, shallow with many massage jets, filled with water that was a little salty, nice for relaxation. The sea was so clear and clean that you honestly didn't need a "real" pool.

–: The shower head in our room only produced a drizzle/sprinkle, even though they had good water pressure - however we heard from others that they had a good shower head, so it probably only was in our room
There were some greedy monkeys at the beach in some evenings, but the staff were quick to handle them and chase them off
AC was a little loud

Absolutely worth it. Was well worth the 75$ CAD we paid for. Our room (b6) had à nice view on the beach. The restaurant was great for breakfast and for lunch! The staff was super helpful and attentive to our needs. The kayaks are free to use if you pick up trash in the ocean.

We highly recommend this hotel!

Extremely nice stay in this hotel on Phi Phi island. I highly recommend this place to visit. Even if you don’t have a room reservation in this hotel, you are totally welcome for a good Thai massage with the view of the ocean. Also you can visit a bar on the beach side - best cocktails on Phi Phi islands are here.

Excellent location. Quieter than a number of hotels but near enough to stroll to the bars, restaurants and night life.
Well maintained rooms, wonderful staff and excellent breakfast. Definitely worth a revisit next time. Note, Google Maps shows it away from the beach. It is not. There is a hotel garden and massage area right on the beach.

We had an amazing time at Mama beach hotel. We were suppose to stay 3 nights and ended up staying a week. The hotel was very accommodating, finding us rooms when we decided to stay. Mama beach is a small hotel set away from the hustle and bustle of Phi Phi tiwn but within walking distance of it all. Breakfast was nice with good choice and the rooms comfortable. The hotel has a beautiful garden and a beautiful view. You can book boat trips and book your onward boat journeys from reception. I would definitely recommend staying here and we will stay again on our return to Phi Phi.
My only one suggestion for the hotel would be to keep the restaurant open later for food.

The only pros are excellent location and private beach. Hotel looks nice from the outside but room was quite old and had a bad smell. Bathroom design was odd and very dark. Despite I asked to clean the room, they only changed towels while floor and bathroom remained untouched (sticky and sand around).
Staff in the restaurant are very nice but breakfast was very boring with not much choice.
Massage was average. The masseuse didn’t wash/sanitize hands after previous customer - yukkie!

The staff is very nice and helpful with everything!
They even had vegan breakfast options .. unfortunately only soy Joghurt and plant milk alternatives .. but better than nothing!
The only thing that bothers us during our stay was the really bad smell in our bathroom.
Besides that I can definitely recommend this hotel - we were so glad that it was located a little far from all the loud bars and party location!
We highly recommend to book the private long tail boat through the hotel - we had the very best time with our own capitan and the price was much cheaper than elsewhere!
