A great place! I have stayed here 4 nights! And came back. The price is perfect and the rooms are very well-planned. With air conditioner and very comfortable bed.
The only downside I can see is that there is no toilet paper in the bathroom.
The location is perfect! Additionally there is coffee and tea making facilities which makes the stay even more comfortable.

One of the best hostels I stayed at in all of Southeast Asia (8 countries total). Aree and Mr. V. made sure that the place stayed lively at all times. The air conditioners work well, the building is in a good location, and the hosts are always up for offering advice. And they are super super friendly.

The atmosphere was always great. The living room feel got people hanging out and talking amongst each other. By doing so, we were all able to book tours together to the elephant sanctuaries, cooking classes, walking tours, etc.

The power had gone out one night and I helped them get it back up and going (emergency breaker flipped) and they bought me a beer in return. Can't say enough good things about the place. Stay here in Chiang Mai, you won't regret it.

By far the best hostel! The owners are beyond nice, helpful, and caring. The beds are the best I've had and the air conditioning, WiFi, and showers are perfect as well. A neat atmosphere of family is created by this hostel! Stay here and treat it respectfully because the hostel and you deserve it!

Lovely hostel. Simple facilities but they were clean and worked perfectly so no complaints. There is a big common area with lots of comfortable seats. Staff were so friendly and helped out with every possible thing. Highly recommended

One of the best hostels I stayed at in my time in Thailand. The first night that we arrived we showed up quite late and very hungry. The owner of the hostel, Mr V., showed us around and took us to where we could find some food nearby. I had gotten a sunburn from the southern islands, and Mr. V took me to get some sunscreen and aloe vera. Not only that, but he stopped by a small plant nursery of a friend of his to give me some real aloe vera!
Throughout our stay the hosts were extremely helpful with bike rentals/excursions/activities and made our trip extremely pleasant and headache free. The two excursions/activities we did, by the recommendation of the hosts, were simply amazing. (Elephant Sanctuary and a cooking class) We also had many questions about meditation and spirituality, and Mr V. had many interesting insights and recommendations. He was a very fun person to talk to and I greatly enjoyed talking to him and Aree at length, which is something I cannot say about many of the hosts at some of the hostels we stayed at.
In addition to the amazing hospitality, The Living Place's atmosphere was great and we made many friends there. It felt like I was staying in a home and some of the other residents quickly became like members of our family during our stay there. At one point we even had a New Year's hostel dinner which was such a fun and memorable time that I won't ever forget.
I definitely will be coming back to The Living Place if I'm ever in Chiang Mai.

This Hostel is awesome, my partner and I couldn't have picked somewhere better to stay for NY. Lovely staff who will help you book packages / plan your day, and are not out to rip you off like other places!!

The owners will introduce to everyone, which meant that we met a great crowd of people during our time in Chiang Mai.

Extended our stay by 2 days and stayed here again after returning from Pai.

Great hostel with fairly comfortable, clean beds; good showers and a nice decor. The owners Aree and Vee are the best. Soon as i checked it i knew they were cool because they were so familiar with all theit guests. They really treat you like family. One time i had checked back in after being in pai for a week and was heading out to a pub crawl and Aree scolded me like she was my mother; i loved it.
