I am living with a very hard to please Japanese when it comes to the quality of Japanese food and restaurants in Chiang Mai. But! Smiley Kitchen is the ONLY exception for us and we have been regulars to this place for so many years. Great service, friendly staff, and we never got bored with their food... Taste like home for many who miss HOMEMADE Japanese food.

Specialized in japanese home cooking, they kept surprising me with not only their taste,presentation, authenicity of japanese cuisine but also the wide range of food choices.

Chiang Mai is a true food paradise. There are bad restos, good restos worth visiting once in life, and good restos worth visiting once per trip, and Smile Kitchen. I wont hesitate to visit for many times, if not all my meals.

As someone who lived in Japan for a year, Smile Kitchen brings back many good memories. The staff is super friendly, the place is simple and functional, and the food is absolutely delicious! There are definitely some good Japanese restaurants in the same area, but Smile Kitchen feels the most likely home to me. Big recommendation!
