Great place to stay! We booked the superior room and had a great spacious room with plenty of light, an AC and a fan. The bed was okay (a little bit on the hard side) but the pillows and sheets were great! The breakfast in the morning was also great, with eggs, sticky rice, a lot of fresh fruit etc. The staff was very helpful; they printed out our tickets and were OK with us leaving our bags there. I don't know what the other rooms were like, but I would definitely recommend the double superior room!

Nice place to stay for a good price. The only thing was that we thought we had a room with aircon, since they promote on booking that all the rooms in this guesthouse have AC, but apparently we booked a room with only a van. This together with the fact that the lights outside the room stayed on for the whole night and the blinders in the room weren’t able to keep the light out and that the pillows were a bit smelly makes that I am only giving 3 stars.
For the rest this place had a really nice vibe and the owners were really friendly.

Tip for the people that are going to stay here: if you ask you are allowed to use the pool at Le Charcoa hotel just around the corner. They have great pizzas as well!

The two women who run this place are simply sweet and amazing. I think the experience was made much delightful based in their mere presence.

This place provides all the necessary requirements for a traveler, especially those who don't plan to spend much time in their room and more time out in Chiangmai. For those who are light sleepers, this might not be the location for you because you'll basically hear everyone talking into the late night, and most rooms are in proximity to the common space. You also have some travelers who completely disregard the fact that all the windows are basically open so noise travels easily. Therefore, they're shouting at like 7am.

Despite that, I would stay here again. I love the sticky rice they served in the morning. And there was a little orange cat who basically became our cat for the week we were there.

I have to say I for this price/even for lower price you can find better accomodation. Basically I can confirm the other reviews. The room was quite ugly, not very clean, but there was no insects at least. I loved our golden courtain! ???? Location was ok, but the house itself was not really nice.
Our room was somewhere in the basememt without windows and we could hear every step and every word of everyone in the house. Beds were very hard and uncomfortable, we also got towels instead of bedsheets :D But the staff were quite nice. Also there was a wasching maschine, that was useful.

Abosolutely terrible experience at Golden Fort Guesthouse. Despite the photos that are displayed on the internet please be aware that the bottom floor rooms are nothing short of very squalid rooms.
Small u0026 basic I can deal with. This terrible room was dim, unhealthy and more like a prison. It was concrete, not wood teak like one sees in the photos. Lots of mosquitos. Mattresses and bedding were disgusting. Concrete rooms one for toilet and separate room for a small sink. No windows, just a giant hole with a chain link fence and a concrete wall directly there.
Did not feel secure as door could have easily been pushed open. This room was not suitable for tourists paying money for a guest house.
We spoke with a woman about our disappointment. No refund, no other rooms available. No apology. Even though late at night, we left and found another room someplace else.
Sad as it was my first experience of a guest house in Thailand. Thankfully the other place we went to made us feel welcome and comfortable.

Significantly, the room is really clean. The people working in the hotel is very friendly. Food in the hotel is excellent. The property looked to be well taken care of. You are looking at lovely gardens as you walk. Value for money. Breakfast had the most lacklustre spread of the day.

I am shocked to see reviews commenting about good service. The friendliness and attentiveness of the staff was second to none. Little things like bringing us a glass of juice on a particularly hot day were touches we really appreciated. The breakfast of local Thai food was delicious. You get what you paid for.
