The roast chicken was amazing! The charcoal grill taste was strong and fragrant, the meat was tender and juicy. Had to order an additional portion at the end!

The fried papaya salad was really interesting too. The batter was light and went so well with the sauce, the taste was exactly what you would expect from a papaya salad, with a twist of the light crunch.

It was not crowded when I was there at about 3pm.

Tucked away on a side street in the Nimman area, this restaurant specializes in roast chicken. You look at the menu and mark what you want off a checklist menu. All the seating is outside but shaded from the sun, there is one fan in the corner so try to sit by that corner on hot days. There’s nothing fancy about this restaurant but I love places like this. ???? The service is fast, the prices are affordable, and the food is delicious! I left with a happy and full belly. ????

I don’t give out five star ratings often. Doesn’t make sense to.

Cherng Doi Roast Chicken however, is worth the five stars in my opinion. Fresh, fast, reasonably priced. Mild or spicy Thai food that is easy to order and a delight to eat. Delicious sauces and preparation.

Outdoor seating area without sun, flies or mosquitoes…

Great chicken, other dishes soso. The chicken, their signature dish, was very delicious, had a sweet flavor, juicy meat, slightly crispy skin and was almost boneless. I considered ordering a second serving. But the other dishes were very average in my opinion. The Som Tam seemed optimized for tourists. Sweet and limy, but no chili, no fish sauce and no dried shrimp. Deep fried Som Tam is an interesting concept, but at the end you are only eating fried dough. Pork with fried basil was alright, but very fat. Sticky rice was like anywhere else. The drinks were way too sweet, undrinkable, even though we ordered without sugar. Service was not very attentive and they brought us the wrong drinks. Chicken is 5 stars, the rest 3 stars, so in total 4 stars.

Mouth watering plate of roasted pork and chicken. Paired with mushroom Tom Yum Soup and there you go, a delicious Thai-styled dinner.

A lovely little oasis of green in the fancy Nimman area. The roast chicken was good but not as spectacular as I had been led to believe; it was just roast chicken with a little sauce. However, the Som Tam Thai and the Larb Moo were outstanding, and more than made up for it!

The roast chicken skin is AMAZING! I highly suggest too getting the fried papaya! Got the tom yum spicy too, and it didn't disappoint!
