On an island full of cheap and cheerful sushi options, sometimes its nice to splash out and go for the real thing. This small independent is pretty authentic, both in the design element and perhaps more importantly the taste of Japan. Situated in the small parade of restaurants next to the Index Living Mall, its a stone throw from the Central Mall and well worth the trip. The menu is extensive and features all the usual sashimi, maki and nigiri you would expect. There are also some great mixed specials. The food is of course cooked to order by skilled chefs, presentation is superb. Worthy of a special mention was the shrimp tempura, and the Thai spicy salmon, both excellent.
The decor inside is well done and welcoming, very Japanese. If we are going to pick any holes in this restaurant its going to be for the price. It's not cheap, then again, quality rarely is...It is a little on the high end of the price scale for Phuket, but it would not put me off going again.
