Very friendly family runs this place. Located in a quiet part of the town, not far from the bus station and night market.

If you feel a second floor room, note that the"private bathrooms" are separate from the bedroom. You'll get to keys, but be ready to change and get dressed in the smaller, wet space you get. This also causes people to walk through the hallways at any time of night, and the wood floors make the footsteps audible throughout the building.

We had no problem changing to a first floor room, where it had its own private, and connected (outdoor) bathroom, which is quite nice. Buy mosquito pounds since Thailand had a worse mosquito problem, compared to their neighboring countries.

I have stayed at the Baan Bua Guest house many times over the years, I always enjoyed my stay in the clean and airy rooms that were equipped with En suite and hot shower, that is more than you can reasonably expect for the price charged. Over and above that, the owner and staff are very helpful and efficient, the food is good and the surroundings quiet and pleasant. Furthermore, it is very close to the Bus station and Shopping Centres, in future I would most certainly return to lodge there should I visit beautiful Changrai again.

It's pretty cheap and that's why -of course- it's not perfect. The rooms lead into a nice little garden but that is also the reason why some insects find their way into the room even though the doors are closed.
Lucky for us we had a little lizard in our room that happily ate them..
The lady who owns the place was really kind and a great help. Her englisch was very good.

This is my 6th stay here over last 5 years, each time planning to visit for a day or two. But the tranquility of the garden, central location, great rates, helpful and delighful owner, central location, great food options around town, draw me in and I always extend my visit....
As a lone female traveler, safety is always paramount. It's safe, clean, comfy and resonates an easy going vibe.

(+): Nice traditional northern thai house which has been adapted to host people in many rooms.
Bathroom is private but out of the room, which is ok.
Friendly staff. Breakfast was gooood!
(-): asked to book a taxi to the airport yet I got a private (and more expensive) car. Still wondering why. It was fine though.

Everything you're Paying for : you are welcome ( even lately) by a really nice Lady, the room might have not much charms but the garden is great ( but rooms ans bathrooms are what tout need them to be !)! Breakfast IS simple but good... And great location ;-)

Nice and clean rooms in a recreative garden. Really friendly and heartfelt family atmosphere. Here you have the feeling they really care for you. The right place to stay longer... we hated to leave!
