The most unusual feature of this Temple is the large array of white shrines (or relinquaries) all within one large rectangular plot and containing relics of the Nine ruling Princes of Chiang Mai. Architecture here arises from Theravada Buddhism. The Assembly Hall is huge with the structure supported by beautifully decorated pillars, gold embossed design with blue glass inlays.

Beautiful and lovely temple, a touch of old Chiang Mai is still there, many interesting things to see. Overall there is a nice place to visit and have a look.

Stunning complex in the heart of Chiang Mai. The main hall is huge and nicely decorated. Next to it there is a stupa and a mausoleum with the ashes of several kings who lived in the city.

Beautiful temple and ground of the holy relics. Seeing and believing. Can take many awesome pictures and was blessed with the beautiful sky and wonderful backdrop.

The temple is beautifully decorated for the new year,Songkrang. There were minimal water fights this year but the temples were filled with people celebrating. Great time to be in Chiang Mai.

A beautiful temple, very quiet. Built in the 14th Century. The large Wiharn has a huge vaulted timber roof structure, and contains an old Buddha image cast at least 650 years ago. There are no walls which give the whole building a very open and airy feel.

Its very fortunate that I visited Wat Suan Dok when its not filled with tourists. I spent more than an hour there strolling around the premises enjoying the peace, tranquility or even zen..it helps me to clear my mind and put my mind in present moments of emptiness of which feels like time has stopped. Highly recommend for those who are looking for a nice place to tap into the calm or just chillax. Do note that its hot???? and i didnt realise i was soaked wet maybe my mind was in the state of meditation???? by the way, the place has a "Monk Chat" department of which you can learn more about buddhism, meditation and etc. Google Monk Chat with Wat Suan Dok for more information????
