The best thing about this hostel is the owner Vee, they were so helpful and made our trip! They helped us find an amazing cooking class, recommended a full day elephant sanctuary experience, rent motorbikes, find the best cabaret show and SO much more. The hostel is great for easy going or artists types. The location and property are an amazing place to come home to. Would stay again and again!

Really nice hostel to meet other solo travellers. They have a common area on the rooftop in a size that makes it impossible not to talk to each other.
About the rooms, I stayed in the AC dorm, which had lockers and was comfortable.
Each floor has a toilet/shower, and the upper one is better and more spacious.

I LOVE the friendly staff who become like family, the puppies and kitties who live in the garden outside, the location right by the temple is great, and everyone is welcomed here. Thank you for a great stay and it's always fun to chill out and find all the info about the city with the owners. Very artsy, and murals painted by guests. Couldn't recommend more! u003c3

Not sure why people rate this place bad. Maybe some Westerners are too pampered and expect a palace for $4 usd. The beds are thinner and typical Asian style, about 3 inches thick or 10 cm or so. The dorm beds are basically on the floor, top beds are regular bunk style. Bathrooms are clean and the whole sleeping quarters are clean because they don't allow shoes. All the facilities are modern. The place has ukuleles to play with and is home to some small pups and cats to play with. The staff are super friendly and really nice. Overall very nice and simple place to stay, and a good chance to explore a different part of Chiang Mai.

I love this hostel !! Good people, lovely staff, great atmosphere..
Big garden with bamboo shelts to chill out, hammocks, and a lot of animals: puppies, chicks, rabbits, fish! And they're so cute too :)
Rooms are not the cleanest but mattresses are ok and I always slept through the night. Hot shower.
I definitely recommend it ! :)

One of the cheapest hostels you'll be able to find in Chiang Mai, 220 BHT for a private room is a great Price. The rooms and Toilets are simply what you can expect for such a small amount of money, but if you search for a Luxury accomodation, you may not be surprised you'r not gonna get that for about under 6 euros per night - dormitory even cheaper. Besides, the big, Gardenlike area in front of the house is very nice, the pets are extremely cute, the house and area around are full of intersting art work - there are even walls you can paint on - and the staff is very helpfull. The owner speaks fluent english. The little restaurant inside offers many well known thai dishes for reasonable prices.
There are also all kinds of street food places and of course a 7/11 in walking distance. As far as booking tours, busses or renting a Motorcycle are concerned, the staff will arrange everything for you, motorbikes are directly brought to the hostel.
All in all I'd definately recommend this place, it's perfect to recover a little from the citys more busy quaters and to hang out and chat the whole day in the garden.

What a beautiful Lanna welcome!
The Bunchun Hostel is nesteled behind Wat Suan Dok, providing a cozy and quiet sanctuary for artists and travelers alike.
I had a private room, near the chicken coop and was pleasantly surprised to be surrounded by little dogs and kittens anytime I was in the garden.
The restaurant on site is simple and caters to veggie u0026 meat lovers, coffee and tea in the morning as well.
What I love most about Bunchun is the encouraging creative vibe cultivated by the staff and travelers.
The only recommendation is have is to bring your own towel (can rent for 40 baht) and a pillow if you're partial to non-plastic, soft sleep!
Solo or not, Bunchun is the place to be!
