Not one of the main temples here; I dropped in on the way to the much grander Wat Phrasingh. But it has an interesting Lanna-Style Bell shaped Stupa believed to contain the remains of King Mangrai. The King was struck down by lighting and died in the market place, his son created the Stupa to contain his father's ashes. Whilst small this temple is an important historical site.

Small but pretty temple that is worth a quick look on the way to Wat Phra Singh - the dark wood set against the intricate gold inlay is quite striking.

Another temple here. There are monks there. There is a washroom here you can donate to use

Very close to the city center. It’s not the biggest or most famous, but it’s easy to get to, and it wasn’t crowded when we were there. The best part was that we got to see a group of monks chanting as we passed by. It was very fun to see! I didn’t want to bother them or disrespect them in any way, so we did not stay long.

A small, very pretty, temple in the centre of Chiang Mai.

Near the 'Three Kings' and Lanna Museum, this very photogenic temple is situated haphazardly across part of a road, making it stand out even more.

Largely black, with gold trim, it is a joy to photograph. Very small, so the inside is minimal but still interesting and photogenic.

The City Pillar used to be here, but has now been moved to Wat Chedi Luang Varavihara, which is only five minutes away on foot.

Make sure to see it if you are in this part of town.

Really nice small temple. Not that impressive compared to the bigger ones bit still with a lot of details, interesting design and good location as it is close to the start of the sunday night market.
