This temple is well-know and well-supported by the community as it houses an orphanage that looks after 700 children. The temple receives donations of food, clothing and any other items that can support its work with the children. When we visit we usually bring a car boot worth of food, clothes, and toys. This time round we visited with the in-laws, who brought a trolley full of food and rice.

After your bring your offering, you take it to the stage in front of the Monk. The Monk then blesses it, and junior monks take the items away for sorting and use. You then receive a blessing and a string on the arm for good luck.

One of the oldest temple in the country with plenty of historical importance. For the past century, the temple has been connected with many historical figures in Thailand.

There are several key statue around the temple, telling story of mythical character with link to Thailand's history.

Although the temple is relative small compares to others in Chiang Mai, but is fill with plenty of history.

Nowadays, the temple is resonate with their orphanage school which houses over 700 students at a time. Most children comes from poorer background, with family barely making minimum wages to get by.

The orphanage program opened their doors in 1985, and has been requesting public to help donate food for children ever since. As they receive no government funding.

The front gate is the only entry and exit point for this place, many drivers will have to navigate carefully as the road sign do not point at every junction, Google Map will help you to get to the destination.

This Wat does yoemens work caring for 700+ orphans.

When you visit this Wat consider taking a food donation (their website lists items they currently need) or making a cash donation.
