I checked in at the Moat Hostel for one night only.
I wasn't expecting anything fancy for the price of the room, but still...
There was nobody there for the check in when I arrived, although I informed them I would arrive and they said someone would be there. I had to wait a good 5 minutes for someone to come to meet me. No hello, no thank you, cash-in-hand, everything was rushed on their part.
The bathroom was a disaster...it looked like it hadn't been cleaned at all, lots of hair on the ground, lots of dust and moisture on the walls...pretty disgusting. The room in itself was just, and I mean just, okay. It looked like my moms basement. No isolation on the windows, could hear everything going on outside during the night. Everytime someone was running water in the other rooms, the sound was similar to someone throwing up for some reason. And there were bugs. Everything was dusty.
There was a self service for coffee in the morning, but everything looked very dirty, like it hadn't been taken care of for months. Pretty disgusting. And of course, nobody there for the check out, I just left the key on the room. 1/10 would not recommend.

Locked the door and no one picked up the call at 2pm check in hour. Finally answered after 30m, kept guests waiting and hanging for another 30m without sending anyone to open the door.

Reasonable value for what you pay. 520 Baht for double room with a/c and private bathroom. Room had slight mildew smell. Good location right on the edge of the old city.

The room is nice enough and the bathroom is clean but nothing can distract from the constant noise from upstairs, if you plan on having a nights sleep go somewhere else.
