1 Chang Beer in can

Our experience:
When we arrived at the place they were actually about to close. But luckily the owner welcomed us and allowed us to dine in because we mentioned that we had walked our way less than 2kms from where we were staying (why we walked that evening is because it was the only night that was surprisingly cooler ever since we arrived in CNX in May 3). We have learned that the fish here was amazing and the main reason we went there was to have a taste of this wonderful fish and it definitely did not disappoint, at all. The fish was grilled to perfection. Once you open the skin or rather, the skin was already opened once they place it on your table so you will see and smell the freshness of the fish with a hint of some lemongrass. It was amazingly fresh, juicy, and almost melts in your mouth in every bite. A portion of the lemongrass was placed on the inside and nothing more but I was amazed that it was still juicy until the end. Be careful not to eat the skin as it is grilled while the fish is slathered with salt. The papaya salad was refreshing (but peanut/shrimp alert to those with allergies). The softness and freshness of the papaya contrast to that of the crunchy roasted peanuts and that sauce... hmmm.. It complements well with the fish and the underrated pork BBQ was tender and flavorful. Definitely not dry and not burnt which was a plus. We would definitely go back to have our fish craving and we will definitely try the other dishes too. It was a very refreshing and wonderful experience overall not just for the food but also the kindness they had shown and the wondeful interaction we had with the owner and the lady staff at that time. I even had a brief chitchat with the owner as we were leaving and he mentioned about son. This is the kind of experience one wants to cherish especially visiting a place for the first time, well, for me that is. So again, we will definitely go back to try the other dishes too. And this time, we promised then we will get there earlier next time around.
Btw, the owner does all the cooking and he was also cleaning up as we were leaving. A very dedicated man, rare to find these days.
