Hug Hostel Rooftop Chiang Mai Thailand

Love this hostel - the people they attract are great! Really quick walk to the small daily night market to get some delicious, cheap bites. Just north of old town makes it easy to get anywhere! The rooftop overlooks the sunset over the mountain and they play great music. Provide easy luggage holds should you need it.

Friendly and helpful staff(Ed was the man--very helpful, very kind!). They answered all of our questions with tours and transportation. Dorm rooms were clean; lockers were very spacious. Met lots of great travellers. Rooftop bar has a great view and vibe. Common room smelled a bit like socks but has a/c. Restaurant next door was decently priced but cheaper food options are just down the street. Ended up extending our stay a couple more nights as the price is great.

This is a very nice and clean hostel in a great location. The cafe is really good and they also have a rooftop bar which I have heard is very nice. I don't drink much so I didn't make my way up there to check it out during my stay, but I did see that they have amazing happy hour deals. Three cans of chang beer for 120 baht or buy one get one free on rum or vodka and soft drink. They have 24 hour reception that are very friendly and attentive. It is easy to see why this is the most popular hostel in Chiang Mai.

A well priced hostel with a nice rooftop bar that's well priced. No breakfast included but there is a cafe next door which is a bit on the expensive side. Dorms are decent side so you're not all over each other and air conned plus beds were good. Can book tours through them and everything appeared to be well maintained and clean

Overall an alright stay. The beds were comfy, the common room was well equipped with computers and Netflix, staff was nice and the location was very convenient.

Unfortunately they dont have any hot water, the laundry was done badly (they ask if you want air dryer, I said yes as I never use the dryer but they still used the dryer. They were also missing my friends jacket and they had to call the laundry place to bring it over, which took over an hour). There isn't much privacy in the beds, especially on the top bunks. No soap. Towels cost a renting fee of 50 baht and a 100 bat deposit.

Beds are comfy and the relax room is nice and chill. the cafe next door is expensive for coffee much cheaper places in the general area. but the food is fair priced. Wifi is not bad and the roof top is cool with lots of drink offers and great views. A bit far from the markets but walkable if you have the time

Great hostel! Clean rooms and bathrooms, great showers. The wifi worked great, and there's a cool roof. Only downside is no food options (currently, but I think they're getting a chef). And it's close to the city center, but gets to be a long walk to do all the time. But I'd definitely consider staying there again!
