Amazing staff. Great dim-sum. The room was old and dated. Super creepy and haunted. Kept hearing foot steps, breathing, light flickering, and at one point dust in the air. So awesome. So much culture. Will deff come back to investigate the room.

Great hotel. Big rooms, comfy beds, huge gym, sauna, pool, bar and a great location. The age of the hotel just adds to the charm for me.

About 20 years ago, this hotel is the choice of royalties and dignitaries. Fast forward to today. Hotel is looking a little dated but is situated in a good location. Room is spacious and interior is charming and clean. Mattress is soft and plush, no trouble sleeping here at all. The chambermaids and doorman are extremely polite. Hotel a 10-minute walk to Maya Mall and Old City either. On Wed-Fri, there is even a food fair just in front of Central Plaza which is just next door. Daily 299b dim sum buffet is available here and it's authentic and yummy. If you're worried about putting on extra calories, you can burn it off at the gym and pool(see photos). The massage spa at the front of the lobby is passable. So is the lounge music during the evenings. For those who drive or ride, the large carpark out front will put a smile on your face. Our stay has been pleasant. The room is clean. The staff are warm, friendly and helpful. English is a bit tough but mandarin is an option to speak. Learn a bit of Thai. The surroundings are very nice and transportation is easy. There is a night food stalls just next door.

Staff at the reception isn't very nice. No hello, no smile and let's you wait.
The building is nice.
Questionable hygiene at the pool. The "cleaning" is during daytime while guests are at the pool. For "cleaning" they scrub the walls of the pool but don't change the water.
The bathroom of the pool and fitness-area doesn't have a hair drier.

As a general rule, photos of a hotel on their website should always be taken with a pinch of salt but for a 4* hotel, the standard of this hotel is ridiculously low.
Upon arrival you are greeted by a friendly porter who takes you to your room and that’s when the charm ends.
The room is grim and dirty, it has plaster crumbling from the ceiling, a mound of hair under the sink, and the toilet is caked in dirt. The furniture is old and the wires behind the beside cabinet are exposed.
The staff do not update you that there will be a horrible noise coming from a performance directly outside your room and then racket is not aligned to the reality of relaxing.
Worst of all, the dirt does not end in the room - we found an insect in our eggs at breakfast and this is when the whole hotel seems like a horrible joke gone wrong.
Take my advice- DO NOT STAY HERE
