One of My friend suggested me this place for my IDC. He did from here as well and he wasn't wrong. I had a wonderful time at Sairee Cottage Diving with the platinum course director Marcel Van Den Berg, He really helped me to improve all of my not only water skills but almost everything connected to Diving. It really helped me to gain more confidant than ever. Everyone from the IDC class from different countries, that also gave me a wide exposure and culture exchange during the IDC. Marcel really teach you out of the box in a way that you wouldn't even need the slates for briefing on the IE.
I can surely say that this is the best place to do the IDC if you are looking forward to do in Thailand.
Thank you Marcel and Sairee Cottage for helping me to become an instructor.

March 2022 IDC/MSDT was absolutely amazing. Marcel and all the team at Sairee Cottage fully prepared us for the IE and went up and beyond any expectations, I had with the high standards and incomparable degree of excellence I experienced. All the real-world experience that is taught really makes this place one of a kind. Marcel really encouraged us to engage and think about who we want to be in the dive industry. I would recommend this IDC to anyone in a heartbeat. Thank you Marcel and thank you Sairee Cottage!

I decided one day to go to Thailand for two months, eventually I decided on the island of Koh Tao to further my scuba diving training. I did both my divemaster and IDC courses with Sairee Cottage and let me just say, wow, what an experience. Marcel and Flav are extremely knowledgeable instructors who know how to teach in seriousness but also know how to have some fun doing it. Our staff instructor Bo was also a great help and a great look into the future. They all made sure I completed all the necessary requirements in whatever time frame I wanted so I could enjoy as much diving as I wanted as well. The IE was a breeze with the preparation that I was given here and the included lodging in the pro house was both a great bonding experience with all my fellow trainees and an added bonus to working with such a great resort. Can’t wait to come back one day and cash in on that discounted diving and hopefully see some of my new friends I left behind! Amazing experience!

Have been staying in Sairee Cottage for more than three months, from AOW to MSDT, really thank you Marcel let me find this amazing diving school, and for fulfilling my dream.

In the beginning, I was not confident enough to dive or lead a dive, I was not ready for the continued course, but Marcel was really helpful and even spent time going through all the English words about diving with me to make me feel better. I feel the school and himself care about each student and that gave me more confidence to continue my education.

Divemaster course for me is interesting and amazing, Flav is such a good teacher too, he made the course so fun and knowledgeable, I enjoyed every single minute of the class.

Marcel’s IDC course is so helpful for me and for all the people who really want to become real instructors in the future really should consider joining this group.He set a really high standard of teaching , and not only about how to pass the exam also about the really teaching and marketing skills during the course . I’ve learned so much from IDC course , and trust me when you passed IE that happy feeling is wordless and he’ll always give you help after course. And also I get so many good friends after IDC. I think I will never regret this experience!

I highly recommends Marcel Van Den Bergu200bu200b as course director, his patience and his knowledge are priceless. His teaching goes well beyond idc standards, he will show how to be in the top. Furthermore, he will be here for you during your career to help you when you struggle. I will never forget the time I spent in his classroom. Fabien

Sairee Cottage IDC November 2019 - What a ride!!!
Having just completed such a professional and in-depth programme I’ve came out at the end with more respect and enthusiasm for this industry than I could have ever imagined. As I enter the world of professional diving I never expected when I started this journey to receive the level of encouragement, mentorship and support that this group of Diving Professionals, Leaders and Mentors were willing to relentlessly give to myself and every member of our group, day in day out.

I first came to Sairee Cottage a couple of years ago, I did so on the positive recommendations and reviews found online and on their incredible website, which gave all the information you need to be confident that you have made the right choice by joining them on this amazing little piece of paradise, Koh Tao.

Back then it didn’t take me long to decide that I wanted to change my life forever, I went from thinking I was just a Diver, to soon realising this could actually be life changing. With the constant support of this incredible team, it truly was.

I knew Sairee Cottage Diving Koh Tao, was THE dive centre that has it all, from the dive shop itself and the always attentive staff, the amazing pool u0026 pool bar and of course the classrooms where we spent many long days studying in comfort and in a relaxed manner which made the whole experience of completing the IDC very, very special.

As for the course itself, of which I have attended many courses in my lifetime, not one has come close to this. This is due to SCD’s incredible Course Director Marcel Van Den Berg.

Marcel’s experience, energy, passion and love for diving not to mention his personally related stories he has to tell is intoxicating. The effort he puts into his lectures makes you listen and learn, way and above what you need, to prepare you for the goal which of course is the PADI IE. He is always on hand, before and after class, morning, noon or night to answer any issues or concerns you have and that’s why you know you are in the best hands possible and gives you the confidence to not only become a PADI Instructor but be an amazing instructor where ever this world takes you and also to become a better person within yourself. He is truly inspirational and I cannot wait to begin this new journey in my life knowing I have been taught by the best, who has given me the confidence I need to be a success in the wonderful world of Professional Diving.

Special mentions also go out to Maddy Baker on the Divemaster Training Course at Sairee Cottage, for her incredible mentorship and training getting me through DMT being fully prepared and ready for the next step with Marcel on the IDC. Also, to Nicolas Sleutelaar aka Flav and Martin Walsh who assisted Marcel during the course. All of their knowledge and passion throughout the course was inspirational and I thank you for being a part my journey so far.

Marcel is by far one of the most amazing Course Directors I could have come across and I'm thankful that I decided to do my IDC with him. I did a ton of research, spoke to a lot of people, read a lot of reviews before I chose Sairee Cottage Diving and Marcel for my IDC in Koh Tao, Thailand.

Not only is he extremely good at teaching you the nuances of diving which make you popular with your students and fun divers but also he is an amazing human.

I promise you that he will not forget you once your course is over, he will help you look for opportunities, build your CV aesthetically and encourage you all the way.
