They have daily specials that are really good. The large burrito is gigantic and portion sizes are generally quite large. Nachos and quesadillas were great. Love it. Good prices for Koh Tao considering the portion sizes.

We read many good reviews about this place and decided to try it, but unfortunately our experience was surprisingly bad. We ordered two burritos that were huge, but the filling probably was too juicy so the wrapping got all soggy and I couldn’t even pick it up from the plate without it falling apart, it was very bad, the filling tasted okay but most of it was rice tho. We also ordered fries that came very brown and it tasted like it was fried in a very old oil. Besides the food the service wasn’t really a service, felt like they wanted us to order fast, eat and go probably because we were the last ones. The toilet was very dirty and was not maintained at all… I don’t have a lot of expectations but washing hands in a clean environment would be nice.

Portions are big for the prices. Generous ingredients wrapped inside burrito. No doubt can eat till stomach bursting. But... Taste wise was very disappointing though. Quasasdila was average at best, with burnt surfaces. Ordered the frozen margarita, which is kinda flat.

I was really looking forward to some Mexican food, while the tacos were good the rest of the food was extremely disappointing. We were the only ones in the restaurant yet the service was completely appalling.
I asked the waiter for a glass of coke with ice and he was busy looking at his phone.
He brought me the coke, no glass, no ice.

When I was in Koh Chang, was told by many that that El Barrio was the best Mexican restaurant in Thailand… I think that Cantina is a good contender for this top spot – although more of Tex-Mex style.

I’ve eaten at Cantina 3 times, and every time it was very good, portions generous and the staff amazing. The owner is an American Expat that is very chatty and friendly, he made me feel welcome the moment I sat down at a table.
The menu has a good variety of Tex-Mex from smoked ribs and chicken, tostadas, fajitas, burritos and much more.
I love the Texas Chili, which has a special ingredient (ask the owner if you’d like to hear more), the chilly comes with a generous helping of home-made nacho chips that are wonderful to scoop up the chilli.

Because we were in Thailand, we wanted to eat as much Thai Food as possible and try to avoid eating western / fast food. However, after a guilty pleasure visit to this Mexican place we came back two times because it was so good!

The nacho chips (homemade, just like the tortillas) are of very good quality and even tasty without anything to dip them in. Our favorite dishes were the crunchedillas and the mexican loaded fries. The slow cooked beef and the ground beef that are mixed into some dishes are very juicy, which gives it a rich flavor.

The food was delivered very quick and the portions (especially the crunchedillas) were huge. So if you are looking for a quick, big, tasty, mexican, (and not so healthy) meal, I would definitely recommend this place.

Some of the reviews might be negative due to wrong expectations. You should not expect very sophisticated dishes. It is more a very good, high quality fast food restaurant.
