I was suprised at the comments and scores for cleanliness after sraying at this hotel. We arrived around 2am due to a late flight, upon arrival we had to change rooms 3 times due to foul smells. The room we were given also had a bad smell and the bed had not been changed as there were foreign hairs on the sheet. The next day we asked for sheets to be changed which they said they had done, however there was the same yellow stain on the sheet for the 4 nights that we stayed. The bathroom was dirty, there were lots of marks on the walls, the pool looked like it hadnt been cleaned, the bedding and towels were stained and the doors to the balcony couldnt be locked. Overall we werent comfortable with our stay and we spent as little time as possible in our room. However the hotel was close to a lot of nice restaurants, also the dragon food market was a short walk which had a good mixture of food. The hotel is also close to the Simon Cabaret show which is worth seeing, also its far from Patong beach.

I stayed for a month and it was great. Large room with all amenities and a polo.

This a a great hotel! Rooms are very clean and up to "western standards". Staff is friendly. Can rent Motor bikes in front of the Family Mart which is 100ft away. The pool is nice but the pool deck is a little rough. TV has an English movie channel.
We have stayed in the area before, just far enough away from bangla road yet close enough to walk. The beach isn't far either. Maybe 10 minute walk.

Beach etc about 10 mins walk. The room was clean for the most part except for some foreign hairs found to be trapped beneath the bedding. Room rather small and not really thought through. We had booked a standard room but got upgraded to a superior roomwhich was amazing. The hotel is such a reasonable price for the quality you are getting.

Positives...... Rooms a spacious and clean including the bathroom. Mattresses are nice and soft, comfortable. POOL and pool area is nice and clean too. Room cleaning service available daily. Fresh towels.

NEGATIVES... . have enough cash to pay for your accommodation, no card machines. Its a very basic hotel. No tea and coffee facilities and the free WiFi was only available 5% of our two weeks. Very limited service and not a professional invironment. You will find the receptionist playing music very loud especially in the evenings with her feet up on the desk or sleeping in the hotel lobby. Very limited English in the need of assistance.

PATONG over all is a very tourist, hard sell environment and not a very clean place especially the beaches. Rubbish everywhere.

I don't normally do negative reviews but feel this is necessary to help others in making a decision on their trip.

I arrived late into the night at Star Hotel and was greeted by a friendly wo*** at the front desk. The rooms were cleaned daily and to perfection. Wonderful price for the low season and rented a scooter from the front desk. I will most definitely stay here again with no hesitation next year.

Stayed in May 2018. The room and bathroom are spacious (Hot and cold shower). There is a mini fridge inside the room which is good. Location is about 25 minutes walk from jungceylon mall and 15 minutes walk from the beach. There are plenty other budget hotel closer to the mall.

While napping got bitten by bed bugs on my arms and face. And killed 5 bed bugs. When we told the night receptionist, she changed our room and luckily there was no bed bug...couldn't imagine how to sleep at night when you can see bed bugs crawling on your pillow during daytime.

Must deposit 1000 bath upon arrival which was refundable.

Be careful with Family Mart in front of the hotel. The staff add grocery we didnt buy to the bill. When we checked and asked the staff what that for. The staff immediately said sorry and refunded the money. Always checked the total items you bought.
