Run by a delightful old lady, you certainly get more than you expect at the One One Hostel. For 300 baht a night (as of 22/01/20) you get wifi, lockers, decently sized rooms, and a new towel and bottle of water every day. Amenities for coffee/tea/toast are provided and if it takes your fancy the owner is more than happy to cook a couple of eggs for you each morning as well.
If this all seems all a bit too good to be true there are a couple of minor issues, but they’re more related to personal preferences. The size of bathroom; they’re private, but contain both shower and toilet which could potentially get a little tight if you’re on the bigger side, even with the detachable shower head.
There’s air conditioning provided for the rooms, but had the occasional issue with the noise of the traffic outside when trying to get to sleep. Imagine this is likely an issue across most hostels in Phuket though so if you’re a light sleeper might be a good idea to bring ear plugs.
Location wise it’s about a 20-25min walk from Bangla road and jungceylon which I found manageable, otherwise it should be no more than a 50 baht fare to get there by any of the nearby motorcycle taxis. Restaurant prices only get more expensive the closer you get to the beach so if you’re looking to save a bit a money I’d say eat at one of the nearby ones.
