This used to be my favorite must-go place in Bangkok. 2 years after not visiting due to the pandemic. I was really looking forward to enjoy my lunch there again. My hope was completely crushed and left feeling sad and unsatisfied.
It's late March 2022, very few yo no tourists were visiting the house museum (photo taken at 1pm). Inside the air conditioned part of the restaurant, a group of office associates some to occupy the space. I went around to the garden outdoor side, only there I met the staffs, and was coldly told no space inside, I can only eat in the garden. It's hot and muggy and I didn't want to, for the price I'm paying. I saw there is a a table or two available, but no, she wasn't going to offer it to me. It would have been fine had she told me the place was booked by a group, and just remained nice rather than giving me the attitude of "look, eat outdoor or go away, your choice". I just walked away, and thinking to myself I didn't need this.
Over the past 10 to 15 years, many new and fabulous places have opened up. Time to kiss the old places goodbye and embrace all the new things.
