I went to the embassy today to get some docs notarized. I was a bit nervous do to the bad reviews. However I got a 5 star experience. Everyone was polite and friendly. Service was prompt and I got exactly what I came for. I only gave 4 stars because the website really needs to be more user friendly. It’s ver difficult to navigate and said that I needed to bring a witness for my notary. But when I arrived they said I didn’t need one.
******* If you are visiting the US Embassy, follow the directions on the website. It clear states what you CANNOT bring. And other info you will need. Keep in mind that this is a high security area. And they want to keep the US and Thai citizens safe************I*I

Every single time I have gone here they have some problem with my bag. When I brought my 4 month old son I couldn't bring any bags inside with me and had to check in with security so I had to take out all his formula and blankets and toys. When I went by myself but had my work bag they wouldn't let me bring in again but would not keep at security. They don't give you all the information about what you need or don't need on the website so you just have to figure it out when you get there. In a foreign country your own embassy should be a safe place not the worst place to go.

Definitely the worse embassy I've ever visited!! If I could give it a zero star I would.
My wife of three years just had her visa application denied to come to America with me for a holiday.
We have a farm in thailand, 2 houses, and a business yet they still turned her down.
Horrible experience for her. Rude nasty interviewers!
This place needs an entirely new staff! Pitiful!!

Always had a good experience when I go to the embassy to get my visa. However, their construction site is soooo invasive. I live near by and I can hear the worker hammering down something that is extremely loud every Monday - Saturday starting at 8.15am always. I kinda don’t get it cause the sound always stop before 10am. This wakes me up abruptly for the past 3+ weeks I had to get a hotel to stay just to get a good night sleep. Most condos would allow loud construction to start at 9 or even 10 so please I’m begging you to be more considered to people who live near by that usually sleep till around 9 something before their work start. Do other things first maybe? And feel free to hammer away as much as you want pass 10.

I always had a good experience at the embassy in Bangkok. All staff are professional, but the American
Staff seem more relaxed and friendly (naturally - they are more relaxed with their fellow citizens). Service has always been timely and seems even faster lately. I would think that no embassy would allow pictures to be taken of their property or staff, so the person who wrote a negative comment concerning not being allowed to take pictures was probably not thinking. Also the information concerning fees states clearly what is acceptable or not. They see too many scammers and liers to be sympathetic. If you do not have your paperwork completed correctly and if you are not sure of what to do you can always go thru a lawyer or agency. Do not blame the staff for your unpreparedness! And it is not their fault where you choose to live so travelling far, staying in a hotel with other costs is not the embassy's fault. I think overall they do a fine job!

Coming to the Embassy was an excruciating experience.
1. Only 1 mobile allowed.
2. No ear phone.
3. No flash light (even pen size)
4. 5760 THB for emergency passport.
5. Treated like you are a criminal by the security guards outside.
6. No pen for filling out the application. I had to use the pen at the Thai postal counter.
7. Unfriendly service by everyone of the staff.
8. No information counter anywhere.

I think I prefer a root canal than to come here.

This was the worst I have ever heard. We prepare all docs needed and waited 8 months for interview for tourist visa only for the consult to ask
One question
why you want to go to America
Then say you can’t go.
Didn’t look at any paper work or ask any other questions. Didn’t make any eye contact nothing at all
I didn’t mind her not getting the visa but I did mind not taking the time to ask more questions and go over paper work
Total waste of time
