Silver Sand Hotel is a super place to stay on Koh Samed. It is located right on the beautiful beach. The rooms are comfortable and big enough. The beds are comfortable. The breakfast is adequate and the restaurant for lunch and dinner is the best around.
There is a bar serving great cocktails right on site plus a convenience store. There is no pool but you are only a few steps from the warm sea.
I've stayed at Silver Sands a few times now and it has improved a lot over the past 15 years. It is great value for money. I will be back!

Cheapest, most delicious food on island. Pasta was 100 baht and the vodka redbull is 120. Excellent atmosphere, good music and all out a great evening chilling on the beach.

The service in the restaurant is the worst I have ever encountered in Thailand. The waiters will tell you to order in the cafe if you try to order from the staff in the restaurant and vice versa, even if they’re just standing there and doing nothing. Long waiting times for food (1hr for a pizza, 15 minutes for coffee) and nonchalant staff overall. This place really has some management issues.

We didn’t stay at the hotel but we for happy hour. The drinks were strong! Happy hour 5-9. Enjoy!

I stayed here for 5 days and I really like it. The room was modern, spaciou and clean. If you smile and you're nice to the lobby person they are too. It's really 10 seconds far from the beach. The room is not quiet but the music stops around midnight. There is just one bad point : the restaurant. The food was really not nice, too salty, not clean, the ware is plastic. But it's still cheap.. Sorry I'm on the pictures of the room

Stayed 2 nights in the hotel the location is beautiful with powder white sand, the hotel location is right on the beach and it’s so relaxing to have breakfast next to the sea. I give this place 10 out of 10 for location. I found the rooms really nice and comfortable big windows and your own small patio with chairs. The bed was large and super comfortable the toilet was large with a big walk in shower which I really like, plenty of hot water. My big fan above the bed didn’t work but there is very efficient air con. There is a night club nearby which is loud but I don’t mind the banging tunes, some people particularly with kids won’t like it especially if the room is nearest the club.
Service was okay and I agree with other comments on here that the staff don’t seem to want to be here and the odd smile would be welcome. Our experience of the food was very positive but they messed up our orders a couple of times you just need to be patient, that’s why I gave them an over all 4 stars.
