Drove for 30 minutes specifically to come and try out this place, but unfortunately didn’t have the best experience. Not one to waste food, it was a real shame I physically couldn’t eat it. The taste was awful. It was around 9am, because I’d heard that they have special discount price at that time. It was made clear straight away that options were limited, although we couldn’t communicate easily (my Thai skills are little). Ended up with one plate of cold noodles and my friend one plate of cold rice, each with four small pieces of mock meat for ฿100 baht total, sharply put down in front of us. Honestly, tasting it.. it felt like yesterday’s lunch, the food clearly wasn’t fresh and I could easily believe it was cooked early the day before and left on the side in the heat for 24hrs. The noodles in particular had a pungent taste of spoilt fish or some nastiness. Neither of us could eat them. I think this is why it’s discount cost in the morning, but perhaps nobody had tasted the dishes before allowing it to be served. It was such a shame. I really hope this experience was a one off, as we read good things in previous reviews on Happy Cow and were really looking forward to it.
