Veggie Baan
Israeli resturant with high end pricing.
The resturant changed a lot, the interior design is much more inviting now.
The menu changed, but not for the good. A lot less options (basically 3 main dishes you can take - salad, falafel pita, Sabich in pita, and 2 sharing plates).
The prices has been raised, I read some of the answers of the owner explaining its due to ingredients u0026 bigger portions - Ingredients aren’t expensive (even if coming from Israel), and personally I would rather have smaller portion if it means the price will be daily affordable.
????Small Baan salad (160 THB) - 3 falafels (too small), fried eggplant, egg and some fresh veggies. The Falafel taste great, no one can argue that. Very fresh. Although the size of them is radicoulaly small.
The whole dish taste great. Size is enough. A bit overpriced for what it is.
When you consider all the ingredients inside -cheap vegetables, an egg u0026 3 falafel balls (which based on chickpeas and fresh herbs).
????Pita (30 THB) - it’s a weird pita, definitely not what you’ll get in Israel. It looks modify to the local vegan hipsters. Sticky and more brown. Maybe an healthier version, but I didn’t really liked it.
????Minimal water (20 THB)
In one sentence - Turn from an authentic Israeli street food place you can come daily to hipster style vegan place.
Value per price - personally I find it overpriced for what is it.
Sure, the sizes are great. But if it means the prices must raised I don’t think it’s worth it. Maybe people complained about size before, and that’s the results.
Service - not bothered at all about self pick up and not sure what’s the issue of others with it, pretty normal.
Staff speaks well English, looks like they are well trained, always try to upsell you ????
The best part of service is that they bring to you Tahini sauce near your food - which is basic in Israel, adding to the experience overall.
Atmosphere - small place with limited sitting options. Interior design is nice. It’s more of a place you come to eat and go, not really a place to stay and chill with friends.
Parking - in front of the place can park bike, car limits parking spots around.
Overall it’s great quality food.
Personally I don’t see a reason to go back as there is a very small menu, prices are a bit high.
My opinion is based and compared to other Middle East options on the island.
Although I understand they probably try to touch a certain audience.
