Action Point is a life changing experience, I didn’t want the journey to end…. SO, I’m back!!
In March I initially booked a trip to Thailand very last minute. After two years of COVID lockdowns, I’d gained 20kgs, experienced corporate burnout, and the sudden passing of my mother, I needed a health u0026 wellness retreat to recuperate mentally and physically.
And I certainly found that along with much more at Action Point.
Action Point is a genuine wellness community, all the staff, residential guests, and the gym u0026 yoga members (yes, there is a thriving gym culture as well) gave me amazing support during my stay.
From the moment I arrived and warmly welcomed by Kae and then met the team Ms. Peanut, Aom and the wonderful Chef Sofia, I felt the amazing vibe from the entire AP team and over those coming months I would start to consider them family. They all checked in with me regularly, provided additional knowledge and support and helped celebrate my birthday on my final stay.
Workouts –I was introduced to Anthony my PT who is an exceptional trainer. He developed a program to rebuild and rejuvenate my body, considering my limited movement. My mobility subsequently improved immensely, for which I am eternally grateful.
On Wednesday night, there is a Group Dinner where all the guests come together to laugh, learn, and listen to each other. The energy and encouragement over those 6-8 weeks, continues as we have made lifelong friendships and still provide encouragement to each other across the world.
Chris leads the Group Dinner and Programs as such, he is indeed someone very special, his extensive knowledge on nutrition, physical rehabilitation, sleep structure combined with being a strong mentor who truly “practices what he preaches”. Chris runs the walks during the week, and Ms Peanut takes on the Big Buddha walk on a Sunday.
My nutrition and Macros (as I learnt) are well and truly covered by Sofia and her team in the rooftop restaurant. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner all provide a balanced delicious meal. There is a great range of Protein shakes and make sure you try the Protein Balls that are made in-house.
During my stay, Chris and Sofia organised a cooking class, which was super beneficial. We learnt how to make Green Curry Chicken, the Protein Balls and Pancakes (which are divine – check out the pic).
Yoga, which is one of my great loves! Jenny and her team of Yogis provide a broad range of Yin, Aerial, Flow and Hot Flow along with the traditional Bikram classes. Each day I was able to enjoy a strengthening class and end the evening with Yin followed by a massage in my room.
During my initial week stay in March I lost 5kgs, so I decided to then return for the 28-day (Yoga) program and achieved a further 10kg weight loss. At the end of May I had improved my health back to pre-covid levels, I was so encouraged that I decided to make a quantum life change and move to Rawai Phuket for the coming year….
Lastly, Action Point is the perfect place to kick start your weight loss or fitness journey. You will be welcomed into an amazing community of likeminded friends. If you embrace the programme, you are pretty much guaranteed to make significant progress in the short and long term.
I reviewed a number of retreats across Phuket and could not recommend more highly Action Point, come here for some rejuvenation time, and become a better version of yourself.
