We had a very good stay. The room was clean. The bed was comfortable. The aircon kept us nice and cool.

We come to the Wangcome Hotel from time to time since 30 years, and the reason is 'too lazy to try for a better place'. However, the Wangcome Hotel would derserve a better rating than just 2 stars.
But they come with lowest budget prices which are only available if you book with the US based hotel booking Internet companies. The Wangcome Hotel refuses to treat regular guests equal fair with equal low prices, they prefer to cooperate with booking companies and leave regular guests in disadvantage. But I principly do not support any of such business models from the USA. I hope such business models collapse soon.

Great location but obviously still stuck in 1982. Old and a bit smelly. In saying this, it's cheap and the room was clean.

I think It was luxury hotel back in the 80s.
Now it just looks old.
Rooms are preety good and clean, but hallway carpet is so old and smelly.

This is a 3 star hotel so don't expect anything too much but it's gets five stars from me for a number of reasons. Primarily, it is good value for money. Yes, the room furnishing is dated, but I noticed that the flooring (Laminate) all seems to be new. It is also kept very clean. The room has a good size fridge, and aircon is fine. In terms of room facilities, the only thing lacking for me was a Safe.
It's in an area surrounded by massage shops and bars. I was disturbed by the noise from the street at night, but as soon as I mentioned to management they allowed me to move. My advice if you want a quiet room away from street noise is ask for an inward facing room viz facing into the courtyard/swimming pool area and avoid the rooms on the north side of the hotel.
I think they could have done more with the swimming pool, it's more like a large tub. So much of the courtyard area is just wasted/unused. The Wifi speed is a bit variable and can be slow at times, particularly for uploading.
Anyway, despite these points, it gets five star for me as good value, clean and comfortable rooms, and now quiet since moving rooms.

Old style hotel well maintained. Attentive staff.
Not much breakfast options available.
Very near to Bus station, Clock Tower, Thai restaurants and massage parlor.

Poor aircon, breakfast limited, dated Hotel.
Staff good, location good.
