It’s a rather tired looking hotel, in dire need of some renovation. It’s very affordable, but not clean. There were leftover soap bars from previous guests, moguls growing in one corner, and liquid soap so disgusting that it has not been used for years. Since they do not provide any usable soup, I had nothing to shower with.

Nice and quiet place. Many shops and restaurants close. Good room, clean and great little swimming pool. Great Service people working.

Nice resort outside of downtown ChiangRai. Well-maintained overall with clean rooms. Great prices during these times.

I give this resort a 5* but that would be unfair considering there are some flaws that could be a deal breaker for others. However, for what they have done right, I feel it justified with its flaw especially consider the price we paid.

Let's get the bad out of here first:

When the sun set, that also means it is time to play 'smack the ants' game. Ants the size of 5-10mm invade the room floor (I suspect coming through the toilet drain hole). I had easily killed at least 20 ants in the two nights with the first nights being the HARD MODE.

Next, no kettle in the room. Generally I brought my own coffee so I don't mind if the hotel don't provide them but at least a kettle would be nice (there are cups though).

The toilet bowl gets in the way of the door so be gentle when opening the toilet door especially if someone else is using it. No laundry service. When I first arrived, the overgrown plants around the entrance and seemingly lifeless outward appearance gave me the impression of a abandoned resort with not a single soul, not very good. Thankfully the receptionist quickly run out to greet us, otherwise I would have thought we got the wrong place.

Going back hotel late at night might be a shocking experience as cute doggies would jump out to greet us unexpectedly and seemingly a little aggressive. Especially my wife who recently got bitten by dog and still traumatise by it. This could be a relive of traumatic experience. Thankfully, except for my screaming wife, nothing major happened. Hope the dog is trained so they would not frighten the guests by their barking and sudden aggressive chasing down guests.

Lousy WiFi... And my AIS phone data is pretty weak. Thankfully I don't need to do any conference or work through the net. Oh... And no clocks. I wonder what happened lately, most hotel doesn't provide clocks.

So What's great about here?

The day receptionist speaks good English and is probably the friendliest and helpful service staff I ever come to know. COVID-19 hits most places hard shutting them down and it is good to get a heads-up on what is open or close from her. Thanks to her, we discovered that Mae Sai Waterfall still open while the rest pretty much closed. Also, Pu Chi Fah is closed for two weeks, what a bummer, sigh...

No deposit required and 2 car keys provided (convenient!).

Special 1 time discount for dine in the restaurant. Free bicycle rental. Swimming pool. Got ourselves additional pillows (we got 8 pillows enough to build a fort and feel like kids again), great pillow quality btw.

The bed was really comfy along with large good quality bath towels. Huge fridge. Nice amount of tables and two chair especially the nicely placed make up table u0026 large mirrors for the ladies. There are many lightings in the room allowing good flexibility of choosing the right amount of lights we want.

The indoor slippers is IMHO, one of the deal breaker is clean and a wonderful tool to smack the ants with and generally needed since the uneven flooring and cracks may cause discomfort. If the slippers not provided, I would give this a 3* since I won't know what to use to smack those ants with.

Walking distance to Blue Temple and plenty of car park but quite some distance walk to our room from the parking. Generally a Convenient location at city center with about 8min walk to the closest 7-11.

Room is quiet and peaceful considering our room is the last unit along the passage way.

In conclusion, this place is great and I like it. Will love it even more if I don't have to deal with the ants for the two nights. Will I stay again? Yes, I wouldn't mind but that would depends on my wife if she's willing. Oh and it would be good I don't have to deal with the ants. Do hope the have a better toilet drain hole cover to prevent these creepy crawlers coming through.

Good place for family with kids, food was so so for me the location was perfect. The only thing that the staff didn't let me go to the swimming pool because of a private party

Could here the neighbors tv and stomping from the second floor. Also, the room didn't look anything like the picture.
