Staying here made the trip to the north of Thailand for us! Boyd is a lovely host and was really accommodating! He was so helpful and happy to give advice on the dos and donts of the area (including tourists scams) - which is so helpful for when you’re on your first trip to Thailand! We got some fantastic days out thanks to Boyd! Zz house is in a good location with some lovely nearby restaurants and bars. Great value for money and would strongly recommend staying here whilst in Chiang Mai :)

Boyd is a top host, I can honestly say that he made our trip 10x better, ZZ house is really nice accommodation and his advice on places to visit was spot on, he knows the area very well and his English is also really great. I highly recommend staying here if you are looking for somewhere in Chiangmai as myself and my girlfriend thoroughly enjoyed it.

Boyd is really friendly and welcoming, he made sure our stay was comfortable and provided great local tips on where to go and what to do. We originally booked a room without a private bathroom, but he upgraded our room free of charge which was a really nice surprise! The room was very clean, and the AC works great! The neighborhood this hostel is located in is very quiet and safe, we (2 young women) were able to walk back to the hostel at night from downtown with no problem and felt safe. A 7-11, local market, and food are all located close to the hostel. I highly recommend staying here!

The house was amazing and Boyd the owner was the best part of it all! Such a nice guy! He showed me around and gave me tips for the best places. He even let me borrow his bicycle. The house was lovely! When I went it was the beginning of low season so it was quieter. House is lovely and very comfortable. Nearby there are 2 markets with AMAZING food and really cheap!! And also a supermarket with all you might need. The only thing to consider is the location, as it is about a 15min walk from the Old City, but this was perfect for me because I was training at a Muay Thai gym so I needed it to be around this area. It made me feel at home and I stayed longer just because of that.
If your plan is to rent a motorbike, I would really recommend this place. You only need 1/2 days in the Old city and you can drive there in 5min. This place benefits from being quieter and cheaper around.

Super friendly and amazing owner. Finds you the best deals on whatever you want to do. Rooms are private with own shower and bed. With shops and food just around the corner. Rooms are well air conditioned. Would recommend and would come back if I was ever in Chiang Mai again.

It's one of the few perfect hostels:
Clean
Comfortable Beds
Nice location
Perfect host

Boyd is a really nice host. He will say you where to go in and around chiang Mai and also say what it is not worth visiting. You should just trust him.

And one Warning in the end:
This place is dangerous, so many guest have planed to stay there for some days and ended up staying there for Weeks.

So probably the most used sentence in the evening is: Boyd is my room available for some more days.

Simple Non pretentious hostel. The rooms are clean and fresh linen is provided on a daily basis. The owner Boyd is quite helpful and literally sits down with you and plans your itinerary for Chiang Mai. A few mins out of the main tourist trap spots which make it ideal for exploring the real Chiang Mai. Easy access to get to old city.
Would definitely recommend
