For me, the stand out feature of this Temple is the beautiful mural painting in the main building depicting events in the former life of the Buddha.

A good temple to visit without any charges.
With more of the popular temples now charging foreigners to enter, I thought I would visit a few of the lesser well known ones and see if they're worth a visit instead.
Wat Ou Sai Kham is situated in a soi off Thapae Road, close to Thapae Gate, easy to check on the map.
The temple here contains many interesting statues and jade artifacts. It also has a number of fine pictures on the walls, in very good condition.
There are useful information signs and a fine tower in the courtyard.
Easy to find and worth a free visit.

For a 'gāma vāsi' city monastery it's surprisingly not that busy or 'wun wai,' the trees and sound of wind bells give a nice atmosphere of peace amongst the hustle and bustle of a city. The abbot is quite sweet and can speak some English, it's just a bit sad there's not more sāsanā-dhamma for the odd tourist, idk placards, pamphlets about Buddhism, anything like that would be better than.... But on another note, best quality public toilets of any monastery I've ever been to!

Not as big or impressive as many others in the city but over 300 years old, with an exquisite jade Buddha, easily “missed” among the many other statues. Also the murals outside are with amazing details but not in good condition.

A nice quiet Wat, not far from the Tha Pae gate. There's quite a bit of shade. You can wander around the grounds for free. You should take your shoes off and dress respectively if you want to enter the main building itself.

One of the infamous temple around Chiang Mai city which has very impressive history and speciality of the jade Buddha Statues (different kinds of). No idea why it’s still infamous.
