Lovely hostel, you get freebies; free coffee, free water with refills.

We got a private room which was very spacious and clean. The bed was comfy and the amenities in the room were good.

Staff very helpful and friendly, did free print outs for us and gave us some change for the washing machine as we only had a note. Told us about a great bar to go to where we had the best night out and drew main streets on the free map for us.

Only downside to this hostel is there is a cafe next door which plays music starting around 8am and some days we wanted a lie-in which didn’t happen due to the music. I did try ear plugs but they didn’t work as the music was too loud and close but if you’re an early riser it’s fine and may have only been this room that experienced such noise.

Otherwise, Very pleasant and would stay here again!

Lovely hostel. Relaxed vibe. Very clean. Great beds. Helpful hosts. Breakfast could have more variety. Good location in the old town and in walking distance or short ride to most things to Chang Mai.

The Common Hostel is amazing. The building is modern and well maintained, with a welcoming lobby and front patio. The private rooms are very spacious and include everything you need for a comfortable stay. The hostel is located next to a nice cafe/restaurant, and there are numerous options well within walking distance.

The staff at this hostel are some of the kindest and most helpful people I have ever met in my life. On my second day, I was involved in a motorcycle accident that resulted in serious injuries. Paul, Tina, and the evening receptionist (I didn’t catch her name) all went above and beyond to help me work through the process with the parties involved. Paul helped me make numerous calls over the two days, and I’m not sure what I would have done without his help. Paul and Tina both provided invaluable advice and helped put my mind at ease about how to handle the situation that I was facing. The evening receptionist went out of her way to help me get much-needed bandages from the local pharmacy and provided me with a number to call if I needed anything.

If you are ever in Chiang Mai, I hope you consider staying here. There is no doubt in my mind that you will enjoy your stay. If I could give this property 10 stars, I would.

To the staff, thank you again! I will forever be grateful for your help.

Nice clean hostel. Very spacious and well kept. The private rooms needed to provide the following: bar soap, shampoo and conditioner. Also the hostel wasn’t very social - one thing that could help would be for the hostel to host more daily activities so as to facilitate more socialisation.

Cosy, clean modern hostel with free breakfast of eggs, toasts and fruits. They also have free flow water, coffee, tea and chocolate!
Bed were comfy and toilets and showers were clean.
The common area was big and they provide self service laundry.

Great value for money with Japanese, local and Vegan restaurants nearby, cafe next to it and also massage place. There is a muay Thai gym and convenience store within walking distance too.

Reception was helpful as well.

Only downside (or upside) is that it is less social and quiet.

Really liked this place! Free breakfast was great and there were different options every day. There was also free water, coffee tea and hot chocolate. The communal space is really nice and has bookshelves, games and table tennis. Bathrooms and bedrooms were clean, storage was good and aircon was great too. Only thing is that it was a bit quiet, so maybe not the place if you’re looking for somewhere really social, but would definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for somewhere to stay in Chiang Mai!

Very well kept hostel that has a big common space that people do use. The free breakfast was great. Calling itself the most sociable hostel in chiang mai is a bit far fetched as most people kept to themselves.
