I strongly recommend if you want to stay like a your friend's home and enjoy talking with owner. She is very nice and friendly. Concept of the hostel is very interesting. Location is very good, in old city of Chiangmai. Cost is not expensive. I will stay the hostel again.????

This place was excellent. Owner is very nice and goes out of her way to make you comfortable. Nice tea and smoothie shop on the main floor and air conditioning in the room. Beds are wider than your average twin, and the comforter is cozy. The bathroom is stocked with a few extras in case you forget a few things. Very convenient location, right in the walled city. Would definitely go again.

This place is the best!
The owner is so nice and makes you feel right at home. Her food is delicious! You can sit comfortably on the beautifully decorated ground floor or you can enjoy her rooftop garden. She won't hesitate to give you the best advice about where to go, where to buy what and will arrange any field trip you desire. Definitely a place to visit and relax with a nice cup of coffee and a good book.

We had a very comfortable stay at the Past Tense Hostel. Comfy beds and very good atmosphere in the hall and in the relaxing terrace upstairs. The owner was very helpful with local tips and suggestions about what to do in the surroundings. Also she prepares very tasty food and drinks, must try the banana smoothie, delicious!

I stayed at Past Tense Hostel for more than a week, and will definitely get back there when I'm in Chiang Mai again.
Kibb is one of the best hosts I've ever met. She is friendly, kind, interesting and knowledgeable. She gives you a feeling of a home, helps you sort things out, and it really shows that she cares.
The place itself is located in a quiet corner in the southwest of the old city, a very calm spot near the hustle and bustle of the area around.
If you're looking to party, this is not the place for you. But if you want to stay in a quiet and cozy place with great hospitality, with the possibility to meet like-minded travellers (because this place also functions as a lovely small and jazzy caffe, with a great atmosphere), this is the place for you.

This quiet and comfortable hostel is a gem! The owner lives on site and has high standards of service and presentation. She is super-friendly and welcoming, happy to help you with travel plans, or just to chat. The dorm room is comfortable with individual reading lights and charging stations. The bathrooms are scrupulously clean. And best of all, an enormous plant-shaded balcony with comfy seating opens off the upstairs dorm rooms. A brilliant place to start your day slowly or to rest and regroup in the afternoon or evening. Breakfast is not included but the cafe is open from 8am til 10pm and the owner's standards of quality apply there too. I particularly reccommend the soba tom yom soup and the "blossom" pancake breakfast.

The best place to stay in Chiang Mai.
Great value for money!
Perfectly clean room and bathroom and great attention for the details.
The host made us really feel at home, offering snacks and being always available for suggestions or needs.
Coffee, tea, fruits, water and snacks are always available.
I stayed already twice here since it's lovely and few minutes walking to the park.

Defenetly recommend!!
