An shrine and memorial to Ven Krupa Sri Vichai, a well respected and influential monk of Lanna Thai. Many ornate decorations, statues, ornaments and a shrine pay homage to this great person who achieved a lot , not only religiously but also politically and socially, for example he initiated the road up to the summit in 1934. He was also imprisioned as several people felt threatened by his morality and influence.

Great place where you'll see some local culture at the monument to the monk who initiated and completed the project to build the road up to Doi Suthep. Took 5 and a half months and people come daily to make offerings and pray. Come early in the morning and you will see offerings made to monks and blessings given. An amazing thing to experience and great bit of culture. Make sure you stop and pay respect on the way up to Doi Suthep.
