What a gorgeous place to do some trail runs and it’s neatly tucked on the fringes of Chiang Mai university.

Gentle small groups of seniors, runners and walkers in morning, where crowds start forming in the evening with after school uni students and park goers alike.

A good launch point if you are intending to do the Doi Suthep trails and a stone throw’s away from the Chiang Mai zoo.

Good scenic spot for walkers n cyclists.Unobstructed view of green lake n mountain. A large resident flock of abt 20 big birds adds charm.

Cheerful lakefront cafe offers good breakfast variety, great coffee, good service. Dog friendly with choice of indoor or outdoor seating.

The Ang Kaew Reservoir Running Track is a good place to stretch your legs and to get your heart pumping. It's not a tourist attraction although if you look at my photos, you can see why some people just like coming here to snap photos. But it is first and foremost a running track. Get here early before the traffic on the main road leading to the university and come in through the main gate veering to the right and keep going till you see a small road with a gantry (or use Google map)

This is a lovely place to visit for a walk with family and friends and very relaxing place.

Probably as good as you can get it in Chiang Mai, a city with few alternative running options apart from the Provincial Stadium and the 700 Year Stadium. Located inside the university compound, easy to reach early morning, traffic nightmares during the late afternoon. Although some label this as a running track, only 60% of it is separated from other traffic, rest are regular roads and car parks. Nice scenery, not too crowded and since people run in different directions, you often get a friendly smile of people running in the opposite direction from you.

This park is very close from Down town.Nice walk around pond with dog.
