A most wonderful budget guesthouse in Southeast Chiang Mai. The owner, and his wife are simply wonderful, helpful people that will work with you to help you to feel comfortable, and accommodate you. Lots of lively conversations among the other travelers in the lounge. Rooms with aircon or fan. Wonderful cooking available on request at the Guesthouse restaurant, most of the day.

Cheap but not very friendly staff. They double booked my friend so he had to sleep on the couch with no ac the first night. He had to argue a lot before getting his money back. The owner even asked me which beds were free in my dorm, he didn’t know. Otherwise good location and quiet. The dorms are cheaper and includes ac. The private rooms only has fans.

Fantastic place, we really enjoyed our stay. The place has everything you need, comfy bed, hot/cold shower, good wifi, great food, plenty of cold soft drinks and beer. It even has a pool table. Herbert is a fantastic host, very accommodating and will help you in anyway he can. Highly recommend. Regards from the Brits on the KTM.

The worst place ever!
Very dirty rooms. We asked to change the bed textile. It was so dirty with smudges and smelled bad. The owner didn’t apologized and changed it only in one room (we stayed in two with parents).
I showed the dead bird which was lying with blood on the roof. This roof was part of the view from “balcony”. The owner said that I can do it myself if I didn’t like it. Then they removed it, but the communication was really rude.
It was obvious that the owner doesn’t care at all.
The heating in bathroom was broken. The room is full of insects and smells bed.

This place is good for staying in Chiangmai affordable. Feel like local, i got rooster wake me up in the morning. The room is good compare to price. Where you can get this much value. However this place is quite deep in the end of avenue. I recommend you to rent a car. The have carpark available.

This is a budget guesthouse with dorm rooms and private room available at affordable prices. The showers are equipped with heaters providing you a nice hot shower after a long day of walking around Chiang Mai. Toilet paper is provided for dorm rooms (always in abundant supply) and private rooms (one roll a day) which is more than enough. Our favourite part about this guesthouse was the wonderful guy behind the counter. He provides you with great suggestion and advice about the restaurants and activities around Chiang Mai. Following an injury, Harry (the guesthouse manager) accomodated for our needs and went as far as providing us motorcycle to allow us to get pharmacy supplies. This was a welcoming place to stay. (As an added bonus, it is a short walking distance to the night bazaar.)

Had a nice time at the Dutch Guest House, we actually stayed an additional night. It is under new management since Oct '17 and the new owner (Herbert) is renovating the place at the moment. The main draw is the price, the location is ok with the old town a pleasant 10min walk away (the SE corner). There is a prompt washing service and you can make bookings for activities and travel.
