Chotana Animal Hospital comes highly recommended by me. As a first-time visitor, me and my dog, Mona felt at ease right away. I felt confident in receiving expert medical service provided by them after speaking with Dr. Pongpao! The front desk staff was great, too! Not only did they take excellent care of my Mona, Dr. Pongpao's English is fantastic and is also a pleasure to converse with. He is very knowledgeable, sensitive, informative. He spent his time explaining each phase and issue, as well as the treatment alternatives to me. His manner has placed me at ease immediately. My Mona was quickly comfortable as well. After having visited other vet clinics here in Chiang Mai, I realize that it's uncommon to find a doctor that combines such personal touches and caring for a pet as a person with exceptional service. At Chotana, they exceeded and made me feel like we've known each other for years. I strongly advise you to try this clinic out. I am very happy to have found this animal hospital and I strongly advise you to join them! Walked away, very impressed with the overall experience. HIGHLY recommend.

They helped me microchip and blood test our dogs to fly out of Thailand and were very knowledgeable about the process.

I am a retired Respiratory Pulmonolgist from the USA and well-versed in medical diagnostic protocol. My 13 year old chihuahua was suffering from what appeared to be an oral abscess. I live in Chiang Rai and brought my dog to a clinic there. I expressed my concerns to the vet and directed him to the area where I believed the abscess to be. I was unable to visualize this section of my dog's mouth because she was in extreme discomfort and would not permit me to visualize the problem. The vet in Chiang Rai acted as if he was listening, but obviously he was not. He cleaned her teeth and said he encountered an abscess filled with pus during the procedure and cleaned it out. I asked him if the situation required the tooth to be extracted. He said no. Several days later it was quite apparent that my dog was still suffering terrible pain with severely inflamed lymph nodes in the area of the abscess. It was obvious to me that her condition was quickly deteriorating and required immediate intervention by a competent practitioner. I frantically searched for a veterinarian who could properly address dental disease and came upon an ad for the Chotana Dental Clinic in Chiang Mai. I called and discussed my dog's history with Dr. Pongpao in detail (his English is excellent). Being a medical professional myself. I immediately noticed Dr. Pongpao asked ALL THE RIGHT QUESTIONS. Within minutes of our discussion I was so favorably impressed with Dr. Pongpao that I had no qualms about driving to Chiang Mai to secure his professional services. As it turned out, his knowledge and skill proved to be beyond my already promising expectations. He ordered all the proper bloodwork to screen my aged dog for anesthesia and identified the problem and extracted an horribly infected tooth the vet in Chiang Rai had left behind. As per proper comprehensive medical protocol, Dr. Pongpao went beyond the scope of the immediate problem and x-rayed the thorax of my dog which revealed she also had pneumonia. Surely she would have died had I not been medically-trained and continued my dog's care (or lack of) with the initial vet. I've lived in Thailand for 15 years and have rarely come across this level of excellence and skill. Dr. Pongpao has 25 years experience and his performance as a practitioner reflects it. His clinic is of an older, humble design, sporting no slick store front nor designer furniture, as did the clinic in Chiang Rai... BUT.... my beloved dog received COMPETENT and EXCELLENT care. It's unfortunate that my aged dog had to risk going under anesthesia twice because of the initial vet's incompetence. I am truly indebted to Dr. Pongpao for saving my dog's life. I am delighted to see my dog recovering so well and finally out of agonizing pain. I will gladly return to Chiang Mai for her future care with Dr. Pongpao.

Friendly front desk girl and professional doctor, strongly recommended animal hospital! No need to wait up line, Dr. Pongpao not only explained my cat's health issue also told me some other health issue he might has,so i can look after him more carefully in daily life for avoid it happens. He speaks English very well ☺,good for foreigners who don't speak thai. Happy to find a trustworthy doctor in Chiang mai, and hope my boy all the best ????????

I can't say enough wonderful things about Dr. Pongpao and his team! We began coming here two years ago with our first dog and were immediately impressed by the low prices and friendly staff.

Our dogs never stress when going to Chotana Animal Hospital as they are treated like their own pets.

Dr. Pongpao has always been very understanding, friendly and professional and conscientious of not doing unnecessary procedures and get the right medication.

The waiting area always clean and tidy. Prices for vaccinations are reasonable.

Dr. Pongpao has e-mailed and called us back with multiple follow-ups.

After a few disappointing experiences in Thailand, we finally found the best Vet in Chiang Mai!

I've been taking my cat to this vet for almost 3 years and dr. Pongpao has always been great. Now moving the cat to EU and again he's a great help!
