The place itself was fine. We couldn't sleep until very late because of the bar next door that was playing very loud music. Drunk people screaming on the top of their lungs and the place was all but soundproof. We had a very early boat to take and got to sleep 2 hours, before 21 hours trip to Sri Lanka....

Myself and two of my mates stayed there from 2nd Jan to 6th Jan. One of the best places we stayed at throughout our time in Thailand. Absolutely wonderful people with clean room. Great location as well. They offer breakfast in the morning as well which was a nice touch. On the last day, we checked out but had to wait till the evening for our bus to bangkok. They were still very accommodating while we just spend the afternoon at their place. Absolutely will go back there if I head back to Chiang Mai in the future. Special shoutout to the barber opposite this place. Gave me a wonderful haircut for 50 THB. Highly recommended

Baan Ploy-in is fantastic! It’s clean, the rooms are lovely, the hosts extremely helpful, and the location on the edge of the Old City is great! Within walking distance of the Sunday night Walking Street markets, all of the Old City, and convenient to get out of the small winding streets of the Old City and explore the rest of Chiang Mai if you want. When you arrive one of the hosts meets you and gives you a very comprehensive tour of the accommodation and then goes through some key points for food and attractions on a map for you to take with you. There are facilities available for doing laundry and cooking, and a small outdoor area. The suite is very spacious and nicely decorated, with a little raised section with a Japanese-styled table and cushions. There is also a television, and space to hang your clothes. The bathroom is clean, and the shower provides hot (albeit a bit patchy) water. From the fourth floor there is quite a nice view out over some of the Old City and Chiang Mai’s surrounding mountains. The whole building is cleaned daily by 2 housekeepers - sisters, that are very friendly. The hosts are also able to help you book attractions or transport if you need. I would definitely recommend this place, and will stay here again if I return to Chiang Mai.

Great budget hotel/hostel. Our room was simple, but clean and had a private bathroom with shower. There's a common space with free coffee/tea, kitchen access, and use of dishware. Our room did not have a window, but we had A/C to keep it cool. For a 3 night stay, we paid ~ $53 USD. Overall, for the price, you'll get a simple, clean place within the old city of Chiang Mai.

Baan Ploy-in was an excellent choice! The rooms were clean, the staff were very helpful and the location was good. Would highly recommend a stay here!

Very clean and comfy
It’s a hostel but it feels like a 5 star hotel
Make sure you book bed number 7 in the dorm room, you get your own window!
You get access to the kitchen too so you can cook your own food!

That place is highly recommendable! It's clean, bright, quite located, near to the important sights of the oldtown and near to a good food court. Also a Tesco and 7-eleven is not more than 5 minutes away. The staff is very friendly and really courteous. Thanks for everything! :-)
