Right now the whole resort is undergoing renovation so we got upgraded to a suite, assuming due to low season and lack of occupancy. The room and resort grounds are nice. It's truly a great escape from the city and makes you feel more secluded than you really are. Service is exceptional and the breakfast selection is amazing, with their made to-order menu.

With that said, with the pool and spa under renovation, it was a huge letdown. We didn't know this until after we paid an advanced non refundable rate, and have we known this, we probably would not have stayed. This is truly a resort to get away and just relax, but without those two amenities in place it takes away from the experience and ambiance. Would I come back again, yes, but only after all the renovations are completed.

First return to Chiang Mai after COVID hiatus, I still chose to stay here. Anantara remains my favorite. All provided services were excellent as always. Bed was big and fluffy. All amenities were available. This time we had an air purifier in the room with real time PM2.5 monitor to keep air clean. Breakfast is out of the world too. A la carte dishes were delicious. Staffs were very helpful.

I’m totally disappointed with the poor room quality. My family and I booked a room without acknowledging that there was an maintenance going on. When we entered the room, it was infused with smell from paint thinner. And also, we were not appreciated to see construction site taking place near our room. Regardless, I appreciate high quality services from the hotel staff.

This is the first time and the last time we’re coming to this place or other branches of Anantara!

If you are looking for a resort that makes you feel special this is the resort for you. My wife and I came to Chiang Mai for our honeymoon and Anantara pulled out all the stops! They upgraded us to the river view suite, scattered flower petals on the bed, filled the tub with flowers, wrote happy honeymoon on the mirror and even left us chocolates and champagne in the room. The staff are truly the secret to this amazing resort and they make every interaction a pleasure. The grounds are beautiful and the breakfast on the river made the start of every day delicious. We'd also like to give a special shout out to the food and beverage manager that went out of his way to check on us and make sure each of our meals was special. Our next stop is another Anantara resort (Layan in Phuket) stay tuned to see if they can meet the standards set here in Chiang Mai.

The staff were very courteous and helpful. I would like to thank Mr. Chalit for sourcing 8Adventures for me and I enjoyed the kayaking and trekking in the mountains north of Chiang Mai as the staff of 8Adventures also took great care of me too. The room I booked was upgraded to a suite. Very spacious and one with a view of Mae Ping River. The location is near to shops and a short walking distance to Anusan Market and the night bazaar. Love the place for its ambience and serenity.

We haven't stayed here just came for lunch at The Service 1921. The resort is located on the banks of the brownish Ping river, not far from the old town. At the time of our visit, an early Sunday afternoon, the workers were busy on restoring a part of the resort. I doubt the guests paying 200+ euro per day were happy about the horrible noise though.

When I made my booking I was told that the hotel is under renovation however the noise will not disturb the guests. The reality is the opposite of what I was told. There’s very loud noise my son couldn’t take his nap. They offered a new room but when we change there’s workers walking by (some of them sitting) right in front of the room all the time we count open the curtains at all. The room is a bit run down and we found a cockroach in our room! WORST experience ever!!!!!
