This is a great place to go for fitness, health and weight loss.
I realised that I needed to do something about my weight and fitness and wanted a boosted start from a very bad position. I am not a gym type person and it was probably 20 years ago that I last used one so I was very apprehensive about starting. I was very worried i would hate it so I booked 1 week and hoped to manage 2. In the end I stayed 3.
My first vibes from chatting to Mike were good and I went in with attitude of "I really need to do this" and from that start Mike, the rest of the team and the local community took over and helped me through with friendly encouragement and a happy positive mood that helped me get through session after session.
The sessions themselves are tough but as the exercises can be scaled to fitness of each person you get pushed to your own limits which were far beyond what I thought possible. Mike is great at pushing and encouraging you to get as much achieved as you can whilst never being negative, rude or shaming.
This attitude is also there in the wonderful community of locals who are so friendly, helpful and welcoming. You quickly feel part of a team all trying to improve themselves and help each other.
The venue is very well situated. The gym or "box" is the main venue but from there the beach is a short walk for some work outs and the hikes require just a short drive. The hotel is on the other side of the same block as the gym which is really important after some of the harder sessions. Insider's tip, get a ground floor room!
Healthy food is available at 3 or 4 local places, all within walking distance so you can easily keep up a healthy diet. The community also goes for food together often which is a nice way to meet new people.
I really can't recommend this retreat enough so if your unsure about doing one or which one to go to, book here you won't regret it.
