We had a nice stay at Santhiya. The rooms are clean and the view is stunning! I would recommend the deluxe rooms with pool access as these have the most sun and the pool is private.
To why i deducted 2 stars; the service is clearly lacking. No one is down at the beach or at the main pool. Everything looks a bit run down and the staff is not attentative. A lot of plastic at the beach which we collected once but they would have the time to do the same.. all in all a nice hotel but not 5 star material at all.

Booked for two nights the Santhiya Sea View Pool Villa Suite Plus room.

- The room had a pool inside, which felt extremely private. This was definitely the highlight of the hotel for us.
- The shower and toilet are “outside” - not my cup of tea. I was on the toilet, and it was raining so the floor was extremely wet, and there were frogs all over.
- We got the Jacuzzi in an unstable state (filled with bugs even after I cleaned) - as attached in the picture.
- The hotel seems quite old. Looks like they didn’t renovate for a long time.
- Spa wasn’t worth the money in my opinion.

Overall I had a good time - mainly because of the pool, but I wouldn’t want another night.

Unfortunately not a nice experience staying in Santhiya. We got moved to a different room after a very uncomfortable first night but even with that can conclude that the rooms are in a terrible state. When I gave the feedback to management they were dismissive about the problems.
To give an idea of the room, we were given ripped and stained sheets, bathroom roof was leaking so with the rain the toilet paper melted on its stand. The room had a really bad smell. One that you don’t get used to even hours after. Stained windows and curtains. Everything looked like it was not properly cleaned for years. The pool looked so disgusting that we didn’t even try to use it. There were bugs everywhere (large cockroach looking ones). Dead bugs on the floors when we came in.. new ones coming in. I managed to step into one and dip a finger into a goo of a dead bug during a night. Doors that can’t be fully closed. Just overall very uncomfortable feeling being there.
Breakfast is poor.
Lovely island and a lovely tropical setting. But what a shame it is in this shape. I can’t understand the 5 stars.

A beautiful facility with a fantastic view of the sea! The rooms are exceptional with all the wood paneling. However, everything is very much aging. It seems like the facility is way too big to maintain. A real pity!
Unfortunately, there was a bad smell in the bathroom, probably from the drains.
The beach unfortunately has no fine sand and is full of stones, which is why we never relaxed there. Instead we relaxed on the beach next door.
The staff is super friendly. The cleaners do a great job. The pool area is nice, however there were no towels. Rather, there were thin varnishes in the room that you had to take with you and received fresh ones upon request. In a 5 star hotel I expect fresh pool towels at the pool.
Parts of the facility are currently closed, which is why there is construction noise and the gym is not really usable. A few very very old and worn out machines (treadmill, bike and weights) are available in a tentative room. Not fun to do sports there.... Again, I expected different in a 5 star hotel.
The coffee at breakfast is great, however, the breakfast is only middle class and little variety.
We were there for 8 days which was definitely too long with all the negative points. We booked the hotel based on the recommendation of the travel agency, but would not book it again.

The Santhiya Resort u0026 Spa in Koh Phangan was hands down the most gorgeous place to spend our honeymoon! The staff was extremely welcoming and kind and the resort itself is stunning! They do an amazing job keeping the grounds clean and try their best to keep the mosquitoes away with non-chemical bug repellent sprays and candles. The villas are beautiful and so authentic! The intricate details of the building and landscape designs are gorgeous and did not go unnoticed. In addition, they have a wide variety of delicious food / drink options and I was able to order food easily without having to worry about my egg allergy (they were very accommodating). They also offer amazing spa services, have several pool options, an adorable library, a small gift shop, and a gym (yoga classes and Thai boxing classes are offered!). Traveling to the island by boat was so fun and such a cool experience! The staff does a great job transferring people / luggage to and from the airport (just make sure to pay for transportation options through their website). Oh, another thing we loved is that it has it’s own little private beach! Although the resort maintains its privacy, it’s only a short walk to the other hotels and the cute little beach town. I honestly can’t say enough about this resort! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and hope to visit again in the future.

A wonderful resort. Aesthetically beautiful architecture showing off the best of Thai style. Everything is made of wood and blends into the tropical jungle setting. Thailand was hit hard by COVID19 and there is a lot of restoration work needs doing to recover from not having the full compliment of staff doing garden maintenance and building repair. Even so, everything is starting to come back. The spa and restaurant are offering limited services but the quality is the usual high standard. What hasn't changed since our last visit is the friendly professionalism of all the staff, the warm welcomes, and the willingness to help. My wife needs gluten free food and the food manager and chef have been thoughtful with suggestions and ideas to adapt the great menu of thai and western styles to suit her needs.
The spa staff are well-trained in a variety of treatments and provide a high quality of service in gorgeous surroundings. Our advice is to book at least your first treatment online because they get really booked out days ahead, especially at the moment when they are still under staffed.
Overall, a hidden gem and worth the time and effort to get here for a truly peaceful and relaxing experience.

A different kind of hotel. All buildings are beautiful hand crafted wood, located in the forest. Far from the pier, taxi costs about 700 baht. Please choose another hotel if you come to party, or are scared of insects because the wooden rooms might have some mosquitoes etc. There is a pickup truck service to transport guests to rooms. Cars and mopeds should be electric to avoid pollution and noise. All other service is excellent and beach is beautiful. Canoe and SUP board available. Pool has a artificial waterfall. Restaurant has live dancing performance. Some foods are not available even though they are on the chef's recommendation list.
