Mae Haad is the main city on Koh Tao, and the pier is where it’s happening. Everytime a boat comes in (and the islanders know every boat arrival) the hotels and dive centers sends representatives to try to persuade you to stay with them. Already booked? Fine, you will probably see someone from your hotel to pick you up. No booking yet? Fear not, there’s always someone here to sell you a room. I always try to act cool and walk towards Sairee to haggle prices myself. Did you get past the touts, then you want to head 25 meters up the main road and find the 7-eleven. Here you stack up on essentials and cool down in the severely airconned shop. Prepare to go outside and meet the shouts for «taxee-taxee» and «penceek-penceek» and let your Koh Tao adventure start. Mae Haad pier will fix all your worries!

Amazing place, the pier gets a little crowded during during the arrival amd departure of ferries though. There are multiple 7-11 and other local street food vendors right outside. You can also avail the facility of rented scooters from here.

Very cool place lots of restaurants, stores, dice schools, bike rentals, café etc it's a good place to check out and has lots going on

This is where everyone comes in and out. It runs pretty smooth. Ticket office is right inside. Now, its not any problem to buy tickets at the counter, but in normal times, i would recomend getting them in advance. ONLINE, must be bought 2 days in advance, if your wondering why you can make the purchase online the day before, Thats Why????

Port for ferries coming from Samui. Not overly crowded and plenty of restaurants, accommodations and shops. I would recommend dining here and take a walk on the pier in the evening. Very relaxing experience.
