Stayed for 5 days in April and didn't want to leave. Yes, it was almost deserted (as many other resorts in Thailand these days) but if you enjoy solitude and tranquility, that's the place for you. My deluxe bungalow was clean and I had no issues with mosquitoes that other people mentioned here. The bungalow was in excellent condition. Breakfast was the same every day but sufficient

We were the only guests in a hotel for 41 bungalows.
We tried atleast 10 rooms before we decided to leave the hotel because in every room there are gates where mosquito’s can come in.
The whole area is full of mosquito’s because of their trees and rivers inside the hotel.
Every of the 10 rooms that they showed me where not fully clean, because they don’t get any customers anymore.
The rooms have a bad small.
NOT RECOMMENDED AT ALL.
Atleast they refunded our money.

Lastly they had a very helpfull and nice desk worker who tried to find a solution for us for atleast 90mins before we decided to leave the hotel.
( they offered us 10 different bungalows with all the same problems)!

Very nice hotel, well located, close to small bars on the beach. Two nice pools, one close to the beach the other one close to bungalows.
We were staying in the bungalows rooms, lot of space, jacuzzi in bathroom, everything you would expect for this king of hotel. Might go back there

We stayed during off-season when the resort was not filled to capacity in one of the bungalows closer to the beach. Bungalows are really spacious and elegantly furnished. Yes, fitness room could use some more modern equipment, the a/c blowed a little loud but we loved the location, pools, beach and the attentive service and felt we had memorable stay and good value for money.

Travelled with our baby and were recommended this hotel by our friends. We turned up at the Royal Lanta on spec and somewhat desperate and luckily for us they had room. Best breakfast of all places we stayed during our visit to Thailand. We felt this was very good service.

For my opinion, room is really run down. I was aware it is low season but it is possibly more suited to young families or couples as the choice of nightlife/bars is very limited for someone looking for a variety of things to do in the evenings. We decided to stay at Royal Lanta in the end of our vacation, and the place is not as good as you might think from the pictures so the expectations was more than what we got.
