My wife and I loved this place , so relaxing . The staff were always around to assist us . The owner seemed like a nice guy. Lovely beech outside the hotel , and it looked like the local island trips left from right outside the hotel. Gardens were well kept , food and drinks were great with a happy hour on some drinks until 7pm. They organized a scooter for us.
Sat at the beach bar we got to see an amazing sun set.
We stayed in the only room with a proper beach view , great room. But the next door property ( which was behind our accommodation) did play loud music until late . This could bother some people ( so pick another room) , but we enjoyed sitting on our balcony , sipping a drink and listening to the live band.
Excellent job guys.

Over many years of travelling to Thailand this remains my favourite place to stay. It’s managed so well. Food is incredible by far best breakfast anywhere in Thailand, better than 5 star hotels. Staff are friendly and very professional. The rooms are super clean and it’s right on the beach where you can get yourself a massage every morning :) All at a very reasonable price.

I enjoyed this small hotel as it was right by a beautiful beach, west facing, almost empty and wonderful sunsets. I had a the only room overlooking the sea directly and I would recommend this room if you can book it. However the other rooms are also nice, bit overlook a pretty tropical garden, not the sea. Staff all very friendly in reception and restaurant.

There is the benefit of a very good small restaurant on site where they sold a wide range of mainly Thai dishes including fresh fish.

Kho Lanta is worth a visit. A bigger island than I expected and especially pretty beaches and rain forest in the south around the national park. I rented an effective motorbike which the hotel arranged for around 300 baht per day. Probably would have been less had I been here longer.

The hotel has PADI on site. They also arranged a transfer from Krabi which took under two hours including a rather lovely ferry crossing and cost around 3,000 Baht. ????You can get a shared minibus from airport for a lot less. They leave 10.30 12.30 14.30 and 1630 from the airport.

I will be back. Darin the owner was very helpful.

We really enjoyed our stay here at Castaway. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. Our room was always cleaned and stocked and the AC worked really well. The location is excellent. The beach is very clean and we always had sun loungers during the day. You can’t beat the long beach sunset each night!

We rented a scooter for 300baht for 24hours right from the hotel which was really great for exploring the island.

The food and drinks were good. We had the included breakfast which was nice. On our two early mornings, they gave us bananas and yogurts to take away.

We were disappointed that the snorkeling organised at the resort was booked up. So definitely ask as soon as you get there. A sign letting guests know the availability would have been a great addition!

We spent here our last night in Thailand. Very nice resort! Bungalow was very good. Great a la carte breakfast. Staff very kind and helpful. Very good cocktails (happy hour from 17:00 till 19:30 :)! They offer very good massage directly at the beach for the same prices as elsewhere. We also ate fish at the restaurant- it was delicious and the prices were also very fair. Great view on the sunset from the restaurant. Happy to be here once again!

Nice elegant professionally managed resort . Staff are friendly and helpful. We had dinner in the resort "Beach Comber" restraunt and "Mad Bull" bar. They have some good collection of authentic Thai food and a good variety of continental, Mexican and breakfast dishes. Since it is professionally managed I think we can rely on the quality of food which is always a big concern while traveling. Set just next to beautiful beach. Don't forget to watch the sunset from the villa beach.

Lanta Castaway Beach Resort is at the top of my "Thai Resorts" list. We try 2 different resorts each year. Everything was just about perfect for us. Food was good as they serve something of everything. All the mouths was fed. Popcorn during happy hour was a major hit with myself and my daughter (we r popcorn addicts, and this was so good). The beach was beautiful, the water was the clearest I've ever seen (beat Koh Sumui). There is no pool, but the beach and sea makes up for it, no pool needed. Accommodation was great. Room was clean. 7 Eleven close by. Restaurants close by. Hotel offers excursions and scuba courses. Absolutely nothing to complain about.
Maybe just take note, it is a great family resort and at times there are lots of small kids around.
