On our 60 day food safari of Bangkok and Phuket, and just arrived in Kamala Beach. We came here as a walk by.
The Meet and Greet is Cherry, and everyone loves her. She is bubbly, funny, helpful, and hardworking, a real asset to the business, that's for sure.
We had chicken satay, which was very nice, as you would expect. We also had Larb Gai was actually too hot to be enjoyable, but it was my bad. I asked for it.
The Tamarind goong was exceptional and a total surprise. The trick was in the sauce, and onion to be specific. A portion of the onion was pushed to the limit french onion soup style, and the rest was just cooked to translucent. This is 10/10, no doubt. Nice tamarind as well, good balance. The prawns were dusted in corn or rice flour before cooking, providing a little thickening to the sauce. Together with the tamarind and onion, it may be the reason they have arrived at this superb flavour profile. One of the more extraordinary meals I've had in this trip.
A beautiful venue, as you'd expect right on the beach. Helpful friendly staff. Very easy to recommend. Especially the tamarind prawns. Wow.
