I had high hopes that this place was going to be good. I ordered the bun ho hue lunch set that was on the lighter side of flavor but still pretty good. The fresh spring roll and fried rolls were delicious. However, I ordered the banh mi with “spicy lemongrass chicken and chicken pate.” In the picture in their menu, you can clearly see slices of grilled? chicken in the sandwich. But what I got were circular fried chicken? When I asked the waitress about the sandwich, she originally said that those are grilled chicken slices. Then when I asked to see the menu and showed how the food I got did not look nearly the same as in the picture, she started backtracking her words. Then she said the chef had changed the item and that the picture on the menu was taken a while back ago. Well, if you changed the dish where it’s no longer the same as the original, it’s time you updated the picture so customers don’t get disappointed. I really wanted to like this restaurant, too bad.

This restaurant had been in my wish list to go for awhile, and finally, I can make it! The food is good as Its reputation. The portion is quite decent; pretty fulfill. Good service, casual vibe, and compact space so it’d better to make a reservation. Parking lot is provide at the Piman 49. If you would like to have an authentic Vietnamese cuisine, you should check out this place.

The ambience with colorful lantern and wooden furniture makes the place looks nice but a table near entrance with wooden chair may not make you feel comfort. Not sure if this is authentic but I find Vietnamese meatball wrap is different from others.

Beautifully decorated cafe. My husband enjoyed his lotus root salad. But I am not a fan of the Bun Cha. The meat has no grilled or smoky flavour. The sauce is too sweet and there are not enough herbs. I've had much better Bun Cha in another Vietnamese restaurant in Bangkok. Drinks are also overpriced. A small bottle of water is 40 baht.

Very good authentic Vietnamese place tugged in Piman 49 nearby Samitivej Sukhumvit hospital. I love the chicken soup - Pho Ga and BBQ Pork Rice Noodle Salad - Bun Nem Nuong here. The hot tea was very soothing. The Che Troi Nuroc Sticky rice dumplings in ginger syrup was excellent. So happy to find this hidden gem.

Probably the best Vietnamese restaurant in Bangkok.
Located in Sukhumvit 49, Saigon Recipe offer a wide menu of Vietnamese specialities, from BanhMi to Pho, from Banh Xeo to fresh spring rolls and much more. All dishes are extremely delicious and can be accompanied with a fresh lemongrass juice.
