Set in a stately old home with gardens, it is an easy 5 star, but without the 5 star prices.
Chicken massaman with durian
Oustanding massaman, + peppery heat + green durian perfectly cooked, rich and powerful. The durian pieces were certainly pronounced but the flavour and depth they imparted to the sauce was more subtle yet spectacular. Easy 10/10 250B
Lotus stems with shrimp and pork
Stems were crisp like morning glory, and soaked up juices very well. The shrimp and pork base was very tasty. 7/10
Whole sea bass, de-boned, butterflied and deepfried. Perfectly cooked, very easy to eat and had an excellent sauce, a combo of nam prik pla with sweet chili sauce added. Aroi! 9/10 550B
We also had Thai roti, Coconut pandan rice and a Lime frappe that were all nice.
Mieng La Kham
It was miang kham with sorbet, using a sweeter jam on top with less chilli. Still had the onion etc in the bottom of the leaves. 6/10. Interesting but didn't quite work. 150B
The staff were kind and helpful, the venue relaxing. Easy to recommend.
