I really wanted to give this place a good review- it is charming with traditional Thai decor, the room was comfortable and the bathrooms clean. The woman who checked us in was lovely and friendly and helpful. The next day however after checking out we left our bag to walk around a few hours. Coming back I wanted to use the toilet after picking up my bag. I was told by a very unfriendly woman that I would have to pay 20 baht to use the toilet. An outlandish price and extremely rude to charge customers to use the facilities. It made me feel very un welcomed and as someone who will definitely return to Bangkok many times in the future I will not stay here again for that reason. It is a very questionable business practice to treat your guests in that manner. I asked to use the toilet at a guesthouse down the street that I wasn’t even staying in and they allowed me for free.

I loved this place! Just down a little alley next to Khao San road, it is in the perfect location. We didn't spend much time in other areas of Bangkok as we loved it so much. Great if you like to be close to a really lively atmosphere within the area, but want to come back and relax in quiet accommodation.
The staff/owners we're so lovely and friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was very good, the rooms were cleaned daily too.
We will definitely return here some day!

Really enjoyed my experience here! Art was so accommodating and available when I needed. The rooms are super spacious and location is parallel to khaosan road. There is also a kitchen and drinking water, which was a great bonus.

If you're staying in the dorms, they look much bigger and nicer in the photos. They are tiny, claustrophobic rooms with no where to store your bags. AC is on but hardly works, and the fans are noisy and broken. Rooms smell musty/mildew. I believe the good reviews are from people who had private rooms. I always book budget hostels, and this is one of the worst.

After my last holiday in Bangkok years ago where I stayed mostly in Khaosan I came back but realized it is quite crazy to stay there nowadays. I tried a couple places and then just gave up and left to chinatown.

The thing is that Khaosan is amazing when it comes to food and certain facilities (central location, bus, flights boats arrangements) and then I found myself missing too much my morning fresh fruit shakes and decided to give it a try again as I will be spending one more week in town.

Thankfully I bumped into this incredibly charming home within a perfect little alleyway far , yet close enough from the busy Khaosan. The dorm price is a bit higher than at the rest of the nearby guesthouses but please believe me... it is totally worth it. The environment is super chill and quiet. Also, price includes breakfast which it makes the regular fare even.

I usually pick a single bedroom but for this place it's worth to make the exception.

Staff is really nice and responsive. Food is amazing ! And they also happen to have transportation services. The dorms, bathrooms and bedrooms are clean, very cute and authentic.

I wish a long longer life to Laksameenarai because it is just perfect !

Everything's good but some Arabian guys didn't let me sleep almost all the night. There's a place inside where ppl gather to eat, drink and smoke, and I completely understand if it takes place during daytime, but not in the middle of the night! I told them three freaking times to lower their voice but they simply ignored me, and even laughed at me.

So, if the owner lets such things happen, I'd better stay away from this place.

Only stayed here to sleep. Having said that the house looks really traditional and beds are good. Showers are a bit weak but for the price I can't complain. I would recommend if you want somewhere cheap to stay.
