My husband and I cannot express how perfect our vacation/honeymoon was with Backyard Travel. This was our first trip to Asia and Joy, from Backyard travel, was able to create a 2-week itinerary around the experiences we are interested in. We traveled to Tokyo, Bangkok, Siem Reap, and Luang Prabang. We ate so much food and learned a lot about tradition and culture. The entire trip was so carefully planned that we had not one single issue. The tour guide would greet us at the airport and drop us back off. They knew English well and taught us so much about their country. We are still over the moon by everyone's hospitality. We HIGHLY recommend Backyard travel for a perfect Asia experience!

Our trip to Siem Reap, Cambodia was extremely professionally planned and executed. We had a fantastic time and really got an experience that I don't think we would have got had we not booked with Backyard Travel. The tour was specifically catered to our interests and budget, and included a driver and English tour guide who were just spectacular. We could not have asked for a better experience and we will definitely be using them in the future!

We wanted to spend a couple of weeks in Thailand over Christmas and New Year since this is a good time to be there from the point of view of weather, and we had some time free. We live in Japan so we looked at using a local travel agent, but they only offered short holidays of 4-5 days at most!
We looked further and found Backyard Travel on the internet. They have a great website and we quickly found the kind of holiday we wanted which they then tailored to us a little bit. It was easy to do and worked out very well. We had some great experiences including a day with elephants in a very non-commercial setting, a home-cooked lunch in a mountain village followed by a Thai massage (both of these near Chiang Mai), and lots of relaxing trips in long-tail boats and visits to temples. At our request, they also arranged for us to stay on a few extra days in Phuket after the tour ended so that we could relax properly and then took us to the airport after that. I can thoroughly recommend Backyard Travel!

This outfit is terrific in every way. Just came back from a 12 day, multi-city tour of Japan with my wife. The itinerary ( "we want to see this..") was planned about 60% by me, and the remaining by Backyard. I had been to Japan many times, my wife never. We wanted to do and see things that she would like with minimal overlap with sites I had seen. i also didn't want the hassle of booking hotels, and wanted guides for many of our days in unusual places.Backyard was incredibly efficient and helpful in the planning phase.I must of had 20+ emails with them. When we arrived in Tokyo, we were greeted by their staff and were given all of our many (over a dozen) train and bus tickets, maps, hotel info , etc, etc., as well as explicit and clear instructions for every days events/travel. We had 5 different Backyard guides, each of whom were superb. All the hotels they recommended ( and booked for the entire trip) were perfect, and the sites I had not seen but were interested in upon their recommendation--were wonderful. Nothing went wrong--12 days, 8 cities, hotels and ryokans, umpteen sites, and as I said, many train and bus rides--- all moved flawlessly. I'll recommend Backyard to anyone, and I'd certainly use them again. Terrific!!

I just returned from a 7 day trip to Japan booked by Back yard travel. I am a single woman who traveled alone and never even been out of the US before. Joy, made my trip so easy. Everything was booked for me and an easy to follow itinerary. I had one problem with getting lost (my fault) couldn't find anyone who spoke English but was able to reach an agent from Backyard Travel to help me. They are available 24 hours a day. My trip was amazing and I could not have done it with out Backyard Travel!

Back yard travel planned a vacation for my family of 4 to Japan. Everything went very smoothly. The hotels were fantastic, the guides were great and all of the planned excursions were wonderful. It was stress free and they took care of all of the details such as taxi cabs when we were tired and forwarding our luggage so we did not have to take it on the train. Would recommend highly.

“Mile” at Backyard Travels planned and provided an impeccable tour ofBangkok , Chang Rai and Chang Mai, culminating in beautiful stay in Phuket, Thailand. Drivers, guides itinerary, internal flights and lodging exceeded all expectations, and at an amazing price. You cannot go wrong with Backyard Travels!
